Gabriel Mann and Eliza Dushku join “Thacker Case”

Gabriel Mann, Eliza Dushku and John Savage have signed on to star in “The Thacker Case”, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film is based on the mysterious death case of Kevin Thacker in 1983.

Based on a story by attorney Stuart Pepper, the movie centers on the puzzling death of drunk driver Kevin Thacker, whose body was found behind a police station in Marshalltown, Iowa.

Mann is set to play Pepper, a young attorney who was in charge of the case and eventually ended up uncovering a string of police corruption. Dushku will take over the role of Pepper’s loyal assistant, while Savage will be playing Kevin’s father Thomas Thacker.

Brian Jun is directing a script compiled by Robert Dean Klein, whose writing credits include Uwe Boll’s 2002 thriller “Blackwoods”. Jun most recently directed “Steel City”.

Principal photography for “The Thacker Case” began earlier this week.
