The Hangover 2 gets a release date

The Hangover, a comedy (with no big stars attached) about three guys who wake up in Vegas with no memory of the night before, has made more money domestically than any other film so this year except for three: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Star Trek, and Up.

So what's so special about The Hangover 2 given the box-office success of the first? Simple, it was announced before the first one was even released. This means that we're going to be seeing a film with more of a purpose than just banking in on the very deserving success of its predecessor. According to ACESHOWBIZ, The Hangover 2 will be released Memorial Day Weekend of 2011.

Everyone from the first movie will be returning to the sequel, including its stars Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis, and Ed Helmsand. It will also be penned by Director Todd Phillips and writer Scot Armstrong.

The Hangover is still holding strong at the box-office, which stands at an outstanding $222 million domestically.
