Michael Moore Wants a Break from Documentaries

Michael Moore is staying busy these days finishing up his latest documentary, Capitalism: A Love Story, which is set to be released later this year. And according to Cinematical.com, it could very well be his last. The Academy-Awarding winning filmmaker (for 2002's Bowling for Columbine) told the Detroit News that he might be moving on to different genres.

"While I've been making this film I've been thinking that maybe this will be my last documentary," says Moore. "I have been working on two screenplays over the last couple of years. One's a comedy, one's a mystery, and I really want to do this."

Moore has always been surrounded with the controversy that his documentaries aren't exactly truthful, but his films sure have been successful when it comes to tackling important issues. Many have claimed he's more of a performer than a hard-hitting journalist, so perhaps transitioning into features will be easier than many expect.

Capitalism: A Love Story is scheduled to open in limited release on September 23, 2009.
