Rumor Mill: "Resident Evil: Afterlife" Cast, Crew And Characters

SiennaBloodyDisgusting is reporting that Sienna Guillory will reprise her role as Jill Valentine in Sony Screen Gems' "Resident Evil: Afterlife," the third installment to the "Resident Evil" movie series (aka "RE:3") based on the video games.

The news stems from information posted to the Wikipedia site for the film, which also reports rumors that video game characters Albert Wesker, Chris Redfield and Rebecca Chambers will appear in "Afterlife" and that the lead character and super-heroine Alice, played by Milla Jovovich, will return as the villain this time (now THAT would be cool if it's true).

The rumor of Guillory's return adds to the growing cast list for the film, which is expected to begin filming in March. Last September, IGN reported that Mike Epps would reprise his role as L.J.

BloodyDisgusting also reported that Paul W.S. Anderson is rumored to direct once again. IMDB and MovieWeb currently list Anderson as the writer of the film's script. Adding "RE:3" to his list of projects would make a very busy schedule for Anderson who is already slated to direct "Deathrace 3000" (an update of the Roger Corman classic "Death Race 2000," though recent reports indicate that production has stalled) and "Castlevania" (another video game to movie adaptation).

"Afterlife," slated for a 2007 release, will be set in a post-apocalyptic world overrun with zombies. According to Wikipedia, the action during the final act of the film will shift to Japan, setting the scene for the fourth "Resident Evil" installment. --Shannon Nolley
