One-time "Black Widow" star Theresa Russell has become ensnared in Spidey's web, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The actress has joined the cast of "Spider-Man 3" produced by Columbia Pictures.

Russell will play Mrs. Marko, the wife of Flint Marko - aka Sandman - played by Thomas Haden Church. Plot details are few and far between, though it is known that the villainous couple has a daughter.

Sam Raimi is helming the movie, which he co-wrote with his brother Ivan Raimi. Shooting is set to start this month.

Russell, who has played a number of femme fatales in her three-decade career, most recently appeared in HBO's "Empire Falls." She's also known to sci-fi / horror fans for her role in "Earth vs. the Spider."

Also recently cast is Bryce Howard (daughter of Ron Howard) who will appear in the film as Gwen Stacy. Topher Grace is also rumored to play Venom.
