"The Hidden" To Be Re-exposed

The HiddenMoviehole is reporting that the 1987 thriller classic "The Hidden" is about fall into the ranks of the "remakes." This one will get at least get a new name, though. The new film will be called "The Seed."

"The Hidden" was a sci-fi / horror film from New Line Cinema. Written by Jim Kouf and directed by Jack Sholder, the cast featured Kyle MacLachlan, Michael Nouri and Claudia Christian.

In the original, a murderous creature from outer space arrives on Earth and begins to inhabit human bodies as hosts. This creature commits a series of murders in Los Angeles while jumping from body to body (he "uses them up" as he goes), leaving the police department perplexed. Arriving on the scene is FBI agent Lloyd Gallagher - played by MacLachlan - who is actually another alien that was sent to Earth to recapture the parasitic murderer.

Yay! Another remake? Is there nothing new out there? What the heck?!?! I really hate it when they remake classics that I've bothered to buy the DVDs of. Geesh! Any bets on who'll they'll cast? There's so few artists out there that I'd be interested in watching in these roles. Eh. I was pleasantly surprised by "Dawn of the Dead," so who knows. Maybe it'll be great!
