Image name

Universal Pictures has acquired the screen rights to "The Stars My Destination," the seminal science fiction novel by Alfred Bester.

First published as "Tiger! Tiger!" in Galaxy magazine in October 1956, the story revolves around Gully Foyle, the sole survivor of a wrecked spaceship that drifts helplessly through deep space. When a passing vessel ignores his distress signal, he becomes obsessed with revenge and ultimately uncovers a secret destined to change the course of history.

Lorenzo Di Bonaventura is producing with Raymond Wagner. Di Bonaventura previously produced "Doom" with Universal. He's also producing two other upcoming sci-fi flicks - "Stardust" and "1408." --Shannon Nolley
