Master sci-fi writer and director Joss Whedon talked to SciFi wire about his script for the feature-film version of "Wonder Woman." Apparently, he's going to turn it in to Warner Brothers sometime this coming week.
"I'm probably going to turn it in in a few days," Whedon said. "It's coming along. ... There will be all of the expected stuff. Of course there will be the bracelets; there will be the invisible jet, the lasso, all of that."
Whedon likened his Wonder Woman to his Buffy character from "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," adding: "It's about girls maturing, a rite of passage, that kind of thing."
Now, usually when a male writer/director starts spouting off about writing a story on girls maturing, female rites of passage and such, I get skeptical. Done right defensive, in fact. But this is Whedon. This is the man who brought us Buffy. I'm not saying that Buffy was a typical girl, but she was complex, strong, sensitive, and very flawed. She was interesting. I suspect that he'll write the best Wonder Woman character we've seen to date.
Whedon said it's too early to speculate on casting for the project but that he hopes to begin production later this year. I'm sure I'm not alone in saying that I REALLY can't wait to see what he's got in store for us. --Shannon Nolley
That seems to be the rumor. I kind of would like to see Charisma Carpenter play the role, though. She would certainly put a different spin on it. :)

Lynda carter was WW personified, although the tv show left out much to be savored. I guess 'iconic' is the actress we should be looking for for these types of roles. Look, chris reeves was the only superman, lynda carter was the only WW. Whedon must then break out of his TV box world and create a movie that'll really boggle the mind of the comicbook lover, every secret Wonder Woman advocate for the past several decades.

If Whedon has final say on casting, I bet we see Morena Baccarin in the title role.
