Fate Sealed For "Lost" Cast Member?

A member of the ensemble cast of "Lost" has taken a staring role in an upcoming new comedy series on CBS. Does that herald the end for a character on the show?

... ok... you ready?

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Cynthia Watros (who plays Libby, the love interest of the beloved Hurley) has been tapped to star opposite Tom Cavanagh ("Love Monkey") in CBS' comedy pilot "My Ex-Life."

The new series revolves around two best friends (Cavanagh and Watros) who happen to be a divorced couple sharing custody of their kids. According to IMDb, it will be directed (perhaps only the pilot) by Kelsey Grammer.

The Reporter says that Watros has committed to be a "guest star" (instead of a "regular") due to her "commitment to ABC's hit drama 'Lost,' on which she is a regular." However, since the new show is about two best friends (of which her character is one), it seems more likely that she'll be a regular on "Ex-Life" and perhaps - at best - become a guest star on "Lost."

Watros is one of four cast members to have joined "Lost" this season, along with Michelle Rodriguez (Ana-Lucia), Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko), and Sam Anderson (Bernard). The four were among the "Tailies " - those folks where were in the rear of the plane and crashed on the other side of the island - who recently joined the other survivors.

Watros previously stared in Fox's "Titus" and ABC's "The Drew Carey Show."

With the season finale of "Lost" fast approaching (the end of next month), the show is sure to have lots of twists and turns in the weeks ahead. Anybody could go at any time. That's exactly why we keep tuning in, isn't it? -- Shannon Nolley
