Rowling, King and Irving To Read At NY Benefit

According to Stephen King's website, the author will appear on stage at Radio City Music Hall with J.K. Rowling and John Irving this Summer.
The event entitled "An evening with Harry, Carrie and Garp" (named for the famous characters created by the authors) will take place the evenings of August 1st and 2nd. The authors will read selections from their own works and will answer questions from the audience.
In the press release, King - who conceived of the benefit reading - said, "This is like a dream come true for me. It’s a chance for me to read with two great writers while supporting two very deserving organizations at the same time. I think this is going to be quite an event and worthy causes aside, it is a chance for fans to see some amazing imaginations at work, live and in person on one of America’s greatest stages.â€
All proceeds from the event, sponsored by Scholastic and Simon & Schuster/CBS Corporation, will be shared equally by The Haven Foundation (founded by King) and Doctors Without Borders.
The Haven Foundation supports writers and artists who can no longer support themselves because of accidents or illness.
Doctors Without Borders is an international independent medical humanitarian organization that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural or man-made disasters, or exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries.
Tickets to the event went on sale this morning via TicketMaster. Prices

“Family Packages†available at $1,000 per package which include 4
premium orchestra seats and a set of 3 signed books – one
