'Heroes' Pilot Available on iTunes

The pilot episode of the new NBC show, 'Heroes', debuts on iTunes today. The network premiere is September 25th at 9:00 PM, so it is a good opportunity to size up the show ahead of the crowd.

This can be viewed as a risky move by the network. If the show is good, then it obviously will generate a positive buzz and help the ratings. However, if it is bad, the negative buzz could kill the show before it starts.

Hercules (over at AICN) reviewed the episode, and frankly, I was confused after I finished reading it. He gave me contradictory information - it just does not compute!

For instance, Herc states that he thought the pilot was better than the premieres of 'Supernatural', 'Threshold', 'Surface', and 'Invasion' last season - which is good! All of the those pilots were average-to-good and the shows continued to mature afterward (with the exception of Threshold). However, he also said that the pilot episode was not as good as the CBS pilot of 'Jericho' (premiering on September 20th). Now, from what I have read, most people do not like 'Jericho', finding it a bit preachy and slow. I was expecting Jericho to be among the first cancellations of the season. This is my conundrum. Couple this with the fact that I have reservations about the ability of Tim Kring (of 'Teen Wolf Too' and 'Crossing Jordan'....er..'fame') to script a show like this, I really am beginning to have a bad feeling about this show.

I am suspending final judgement until I can view the episode myself. I desperately want this show to be good; but, now I am worried that it will be an early cancellation victim. Am I just paranoid because of the cancellation last year's SciFi shows?

It's still not on iTunes yet! :-(

Yeah...I can't find it either. There is no news story out there telling us why, either. If I find anything out, I'll post.

OK...here is the best info that I found....evidently, iTunes updates with new music and such on Tuesdays. The thought is that we will have to wait until Tuesday to get the new shows, also.

Nice of them to mention that.
