New Sci-Fi Series Purchased by Fox

Aint It Cool News is reporting that Fox has purchased 13 episodes of the sci-fi concept created by "Road to Perdition" scribe David Self. The series is tentatively titled "'Beyond".

The sci-fi drama centers on the life of a director at Jet Propulsion Labs, who is trying to stop a deadly meteor (carrying a virus) from reaching Earth.

David Self, who wrote “Road to Perdition”, also has writing credits for the currently unproduced screenplays for “Deathlok” and “Captain America". Not to be a curse, but I wouldn't mind Self failing in this concept, so he can get "Captain America" produced. Looking at the IMDB.COM entry for the show, the fact that 'Jolly Fat Guy', 'Nervous Office Worker' and 'Jolly Woman' are listed prominently in the cast information does not exactly inspire confidence in the series' prospects.

Still, Self can write. We will be keeping tabs on this one in the coming months.
