Who is Joining the Cast of 'Heroes'?
Michael Ausiello of TVGuide fame is reporting that there will be a new 'Heroes' cast member in January. That new cast member will be former the former 'Doctor Who', Christopher Eccleston! (thanks to SFSignal for the tip)
Eccleston portrayed the Doctor in the first season of the latest incarnation of 'Doctor Who' (seen on US TV last season). He was spectacular! No offense to the current doctor, but I really enjoyed Eccelston's take on the franchise. There is no word on his role or superpower as of yet, but I am randomly guessing super speed. Eccelston would be a great hyperactive speedster.
Slice of SciFi is reporting another piece of casting news. George Takai ('Captain Sulu'!) has been cast as Hiro Nakamura's father. Masi Oka, who plays Hiro, says, "Hiro’s father is this big honcho who shows up in America with his bodyguard. He has this whole elaborate scheme to kidnap his son and take him back to Japan. I just hope I get to say, ‘Dad! Sulu is my hero, not you!’ The sci-fi fans would love it!â€.
Heh - how right he is!
Slice of SciFi reports that TV Guide magazine broke the news about George Takei being cast as Hiro's dad in Heroes. Quotes from the interview appear in the November 27 issue of TV Guide (which hits newsstands Thursday, November 23).
