"Battlestar Galactica" News and Rumors
It is a busy season for "Battlestar Galactica" news. With the debut season 3.5 on January 21st (remember, that is a Sunday, not a Friday), everyone is chomping at the bit for information. There are some semi-spoilers at the end of this post, so you have been warned.
First up - naked Cylons! Tricia Helfer, who plays the groovy Number Six, will be in Playboy magazine next month. This news comes via TVSquad...and you must check out the comments on this article. Especially #11 - "I support this decision...and request that Ms. Helfer discuss the positive aspects of the experience with her costars Grace Park and Katie Sackhoff. And Morena Baccarin, just because." Heh. There are several "So say we all" comments in there too.
Next, there is a rumor that a BSG MMO game is beginning development. This would add "Battlestar Galactica" to the list with "Firefly," "Stargate" and "Star Trek." How many MMO games can we make? However, this report is questionable and denials have already surfaced, so this may not be a done deal. I think there may be some confusion with a similar report in which Margaret Weis productions announced that they will be making a Pen-and-Paper Battlestar Galactica RPG. People see RPG, they think MMO, not PnP. (wow, what a sentence, eh?)
In other news, "Battlestar Galactica" has been renewed for its fourth season. Hooray!
Now for the bad news ...and you might want to sit down for this.
There are rumors that Starbuck will be killed off.
Evidently, Katee Sackhoff appeared on a Portland radio show and said that she was leaving the show. TV Guide's Michael Ausiello echoed the rumor, but he noted "... Ron Moore would be out of his frakkin' mind to deep-six Starbuck, right?"
Right! But, I do recall another old spoiler rumor that one of the 'top seven'' would die...and Starbuck certainly fits the bill.
All I know for sure is - I won't be happy!
I heard that radio show (the audio is available on their website).
The hosts ask her why her name does not appear in the credits for the last 3 episodes of this season. All she says is that she signed an NDA and can't discuss it, and then the hosts say, "Oh my god, look at her eyes."
So, I assume she either disappears for some reason or dies. I hope it's disappears.
