"Smallville" Forms a "Justice League"

Let's be honest here - I haven't watched "Smallville" in years. I grew tired of the continuous 'Oh...look...another kryptonite altered villian' or, even worse, the 'oh...look....someone is possessed/controlled again'. The plot repetition lost me. And, going up agaist Survivor didn't help either.

However (thanks to Geek Monthy for the story, btw), the January 18th 'Justice' episode of "Smallville" sounds pretty interesting - so much so that I will likely watch one more time!.

'Justice' reportedly brings together a young "Justice League" in Smallville - including Clark, Cyborg, The Flash, Aquaman and the very popular Green Arrow. All of these budding heroes have been featured on the show in the past, but the Green Arrow brings them all together to foil a Luthor plot.

So, the premise is good. There is another reason to watch this episode, though. Steven S. DeKnight wrote and directed this episode. DeKnight also has several episodes of "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" on his resume. As you know, there are no bad episodes of "Buffy" or "Angel", so DeKnight has written some good stuff. He has written and produced a bevy of Smallville episodes...but, unfortunately, I had dropped the show prior to his arrival.

I'll be watching next Thursday...but, should I pick up the DVDs of Smallville to catch up? Or, is it still as 'meh' as it used to be?

Man, this is the best season yet...

The krypto freak of the week factor is way down this year.

Pick yourself up the last few seasons you missed, last season was also very good with Buffy/Angel alum James Marsters playing an evilly delicious Brainiac...

The last two seasons have been the best yet.

You probably don't need to get the DVDs out. Maybe only season 5 and maybe season 4. Season 6 has been an improvement. And Justice will hopefully live up to the hype.

OK - it sounds like it has improved over the years. I think I'll make an assessment after watching 'Justice'. It sure seems like a good way to try out my new Blockbuster Online membership, though! Thanks for the input!
