"Harry Potter" Book 7 Release Date Set!

According to ABC News, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be published July 21! (Many thanks to Mark for the tip, who saw it on GMA this morning).

Author J.K. Rowling also announced the publication date on her Web site.

It looks like the book is going to be a bit pricey, as the article states that the book will sell as "...a hardback edition at a suggested retail price of $34.99, a deluxe edition at $65.00 and a reinforced library edition at $39.99". But, we all really don't care, do we? Time to finish off those current books and prepare. It might be time to re-read 'Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince'!

Also, I have to give some props to the folks at MuggleNet. They published this prediction on the release date for the book:

We do expect the book will be published in 2007. Allowing approximately six months for editing, marketing, promotion, printing, and everything else involved in the publication of a book, and assuming that Jo will have completed the novel by spring, our best guess is we're looking at a late summer 2007 release, or perhaps later, in the fall.

July 21st is technically mid-summer...but, that is good work!

Personally, I am still in the 'really, really happy' stage. I don't think I'll start mourning the fact that the series will be over until after I turn that last page of the book. But, I get where you are coming from!

Absolute, undeniable proof that there is, in fact, a God, and that He loves us very much.
