Beyond the Red Line

As I was searching the web for "Battlestar Galactica" insight (especially about All Along the Watchtower), I came across a very cool effort.

A group of game modders have created a conversion of Freespace 2 (itself a very good game) that is based on the current "Battlestar Galactica" universe. "Beyond the Red Line" is completely fan created - and it's free, since Volition released the game engine to the public in 2002. They have released a demo featuring which reportedly features events through the episode "Scar" - and the demo is multi-platform, so you can get it for Windows, Linux and Mac. How cool is that?

The official site, with a plethora of details on the project, can be found at the Game Warden site. If you just want to check out the demo, you can go here for the instructions. There may be a few extra things that you have to download to get it to work, but it looks pretty simple. I hope to be piloting a Viper sometime this weekend!
