iPhone on "Lost"?

In the most recent episode of "Lost" ( ), the Losties use a satellite phone. However, was it just a simple satellite phone, or something more?

Several sources, including Engadget and TUAW, are reporting that the phone was, in fact, a pre-release iPhone! The photos on TUAW are pretty convincing - and I like their description:

"Those rounded square buttons, even the real Mac OS X 'Home' icon...heck, that's an iPhone! OK, an iPhone crammed into a Newton, but the similarities are pretty striking"

Here are some additional iPhone pictures. One cannot be 100% certain, but I think it is really an iPhone. Thus, I am now shopping for phones again! Now, next week, maybe we could see a Google Phone (just for comparison purposes, of course)?

It could be an iPhone since I believe this show is taking place in the future. If you remember back to an episode from earlier this season one of the guards was reading reading Stephen Hawking’s “A Brief History of Time”. In the book Hawking discusses the possibility of time travel, perhaps some foreshadowing.

Good point! After the last episode, and the 'everyone on flight 815 died' comment, time travel and alternate universes are clearly back in play.
