"Drive" Update

I know, I know - I am posting an awful lot on "Drive"...

But, there are a few things to update:

(1) There is a petition to save Drive online, which can be found here. I was signature #3582! Now, I realize that it is pretty much futile to shout about this to FOX. However, if there is no hue and cry over the cancellation, FOX executives will not know that we consider it a mistake (correction - a big, big mistake).

(2) Tim Minear's blog has not been updated with an official statement regarding the cancellation. However, there is a post there from Tim that includes scripts from the first four episodes. And, these scripts are different than what was actually filmed and broadcast, so they contain spoilers to future plot points. If you need a "Drive" fix, this is the only place to go!

(3) Finally, because we have to laugh, if only not to cry - here is a cartoon that explains why FOX bought the show in the first place. They thought it was a reality show!

Unless Tim Minear posts something miraculous about the show's prospects, I think this will probably be the last post on "Drive". I am pretty sure that the production of the show will be too expensive for a network like The CW to handle, so our 'please take this show to another network' thoughts are not real likely. Maybe a venture capitalist with an idea for a network-less TV show will come in and finance the remainder of the season (for viewing on the web, of course)? One can hope.

That post isn't from Tim; it's from his site's webmaster. TimMinear.net is the official website of Tim Minear, but it's not his blog.

I wish they would bring back Drive.

I want to know how it ended.
