"Harry Potter" Printers Kept in the Dark

The security around "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" is very, very tight. I just read a report that upcoming book is "...being printed in 'total darkness' in a bid to avoid leaks about the novel's plot".

According to the article, workers at the GGP print factory in the German town of Poessneck are forced to work in pitch black conditions in order to keep the content of the book secret. In addition to this 'spell of darkness', the cars and bags of the workers are searched each day and employees have been notified that they will be fired if they make bets on the novel's ending.

Now, I understand security and the fact that plots from the previous books were leaked prior to release. But, how the heck are the workers printing and assembling a book in the dark? Wouldn't it have been easier to print the German version here (using English speakers) and the English version there (using German speakers)? Ahh...I know...business doesn't follow any logic!

Just as a reminder, "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" will be released on July 21st - it's getting close!
