Poll Results: Most Desired Comic Movie

I just received my TiVo newsletter (love that thing!). I found a very interesting article that gave the results of a recent TiVo poll, which asked which comic book and/or classic cartoon character should get a feature film treatment (a la "Transformers").

Here are the results (comprised of 1.6 million votes!):

Comic Book
29% - Wonder Woman
26% - Green Lantern

Classic Cartoon
30% - Jetsons
25% - Family Guy
18% - The Smurfs

Wow - I am a little surprised by these results. I can buy "Wonder Woman", since that movie has been in the news with Joss Whedon's involvement (and then later departure). But "Green Lantern"? I see him protecting a Direct to DVD universe. I would much rather see "Justice League of America" or "The Avengers". Heck, I have a suspicion that the "Black Panther" would be an excellent live adaption too.

On the cartoon front, I probably would just pass. A live action "Jetsons" is the equivalent of the "Flintstones" - and that's not great. And, I really don't want to talk about a blue-painted live action "Smurfs" movie. There are too many porn movie connotations there...

Of course, now that I think of it, a "Dragonball Z" live action flick could work. That would have been my vote!
