"Dollhouse" with Whedon, Minear and Eliza Dushku

Joss Whedon. Tim Minear. Eliza Dushku.

To be honest, after seeing those three names, I don't really need to know what the show is about. It could be Eliza sitting in a room talking to herself - Joss and Tim could write something interesting around that scenario.

But, for those of you that are not total Mutant Enemy worshippers, it's lucky that there is an actual plot attached to the show. "Dollhouse" will be a one-hour drama produced by Twentieth Century Fox to air on FOX as early as next spring. Seven episodes have been initially ordered. The story centers around Dushku's character, "Echo", who is a member of a group of people who have their minds wiped clean, then have new memories implanted. They perform missions in this state, then return to the "Dollhouse" to have their memories re-wiped. The group lives in the "Dollhouse" between missions. Of course, Dushku's character begins to remember certain things, which changes the game.

The story sounds pretty solid to me. (Course, I did mention my fanboy-ness, didn't I?) Hopefully, FOX will be a little kinder to Joss then the last time around (see "Firefly"). Heck, they might want to be a little kinder to Eliza also (see "Tru Calling"). And, poor Tim...I just can't talk about it (but, see "Drive", "The Inside" and "Wonderfalls").

Maybe we should start a "Save Our Show" campaign, sending little Eliza Dushku dolls to FOX as a preemptive strike? With FOX, it might be a good idea.

On the other hand, with the buzz this show is already generating, it might not need any help. Joss, Tim and Eliza have large fanbases and the fansites are already online. Dollverse seems to be a great repository, with a fairly long essay comparing an episode of Angel to the proposed Dollhouse plot. It's good stuff!

I'm so excited about this show....1st thing that came to mind..."I wish it this show wasn't on FOX"....they are infamous for ditching good shows!!!! I think it's agood idea to start the "save our show" campaign right now!!!!
Fire Fly, Tru Calling, Wonderfalls....I'm tearing up!
