How Many Episodes Left?
With the Writer's Guild strike in full force, most everyone that I have talked to expects reruns to start soon. However, the question of exactly how soon was a little more difficult. Luckily, both Michael Ausiello (of TVGuide) and the LA Times have already done the heavy lifting and posted "Strike Charts" listing the number of episodes each of our favorite shows have already been produced.
I have posted the relevant data for the Sci-Fi genre shows from the list. But, remember, as Ausiello said "...Keep in mind: The information below is subject to change, particularly if both sides get back to the bargaining table and resolve this frakkin' thing!"
Ahh..we can hope. Here is the list:
| Show | # of Episodes Produced | # Aired | # Left |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bionic Woman | 9 | 6 | 3 |
| Chuck | 13 | 7 | 6 |
| Heroes | 11 | 7 | 4 |
| Supernatural | 10-12 | 6 | 4-6 |
| Reaper | 10-12 | 7 | 3-5 |
| Pushing Daisies | 9 | 5 | 4 |
| Smallville | 15 | 7 | 8 |
| Lost | 8 | 0 | 8 |
| Moonlight | 11 | 7 | 4 |
| Journeyman | 12 | 7 | 5 |
| Big Bang Theory | 8 | 7 | 1 |
| Eureka | 0 (ouch!) | 0 | 0 |
| Stargate: Atlantis | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Battlestar Galactica | 10 | 0 | 10 |
Just to note, Battlestar Galactica also has the two-hour movie "Razor" due in a couple of weeks. The notes on Eureka were simply "will be affected", which can't be that good. On the other hand, the notes on Stargate: Atlantis were "...as scheduled", which is much better. I'll try to update this if more information becomes available.
A better list would be which of the above are going to go away if the strike is prolonged, as the spokesperson for the AMPTP believes. Yes, Nick Counter is the devil....
