NBC Extends "Chuck"

SCI FI Wire is reporting that one of my new favorites, "Chuck" has been approved for a full season. Translated, that means that nine more episodes. Yippee!

According to the article, "Chuck" has posted the best numbers among all of NBC's new shows, averaging a 3.4 rating and a 9 share among adults 18-49. Those numbers are decent - I am glad they were enough to get the show through it's freshman season.

However, the word is not as promising for NBC's other new Monday night show, "Journeyman". Ain't It Cool News reported that NBC may not even air the 12th and final “Journeyman”! Here's the quote from series producer Kevin Falls:

...on Dec. 3rd, “Life” gets our slot…and I think that made it seem like we were gonna get yanked after that, but that’s not true. We will air Episodes 10 and 11; 10 is our Christmas episode, and 11 is the first part of a two-parter that leads into our…season finale.

Now, here’s what no-one knows about and what I just found out about last night: there’s no room for Episode 12. And the idea is…they’re not saying, “We’re not going to give you that back 9.” I mean, no-one can predict what’s gonna happen with the strike. But I think the idea is that NBC, what they want to do is tie up all their loose ends.

From that quote, I am not seeing a "back 9" for "Journeyman". They obviously still have hope (and the strike is an interesting variable), but failing to air the final filmed episode of the season is a big red flag.

chuck is great! i just love it!
