One Night of "Chuck"

Zap2It is reporting that the last two (filmed) episodes of "Chuck" finally have an air date. NBC has decided to broadcast the episodes on Thursday, January 24th, in a rather the curious configuration. Here's the setup:

8:00 PM EST - "Chuck" (Episode #12)
9:00 PM EST - "The Celebrity Apprentice"
10:00 PM EST - "Chuck" (Episode #13)

It seems that the CW is not the only network that has decided to do some strange things with its schedule. "Chuck" was a fixture for me on Monday nights - now, it's midseason finale will air on a Thursday? I don't get it. The networks profess that they do not like TiVo/DVR viewers...then they make schedule changes like this which ensure that *only* TiVo/DVR viewers will pick up the episodes. Curious.

However, in the case of "Chuck", we can feel safe in the knowledge that NBC has picked up the series for a full season. So, whenever the Writer's Strike ends, "Chuck" will be back - despite any strange network scheduling decisions.
