"Power Rangers: Jungle Fury"

Yes...I know.

The last installment of the "Power Rangers" ("Operations Overdrive", for those of you that were watching) was not all that good. For some reason, the producers (or Disney) skewed the content even younger than usual, making the show only suitable for kids under eight. Then even had the cast doing "Eat Your Vegetables!"-like public service announcements! My kids still loved it, though, so they were doing something right.

This latest installment, "Jungle Fury", will be the sixteenth season in American for the show. It is based on the thirty-first Japanese Super Sentai series, "Juken Sentai Gekiranger", which will be the source for battle footage.

From the commercials and the wiki, I have some hope that it may skew a bit older than "Operation Overdrive". This time, the kids will work in a pizza shop under the tutelage of their mysterious kung-fu master, "R.J.", The main three rangers will have the power of the Tiger, Jaguar and Cheetah. This gives me a bit of hope for a more "Dino Thunder" or "Ninja Storm" feel to the show. If not...my kids will still love it and I will be buying more merchandise for their respective birthdays. The show cannot be stopped!

"Power Rangers: Jungle Fury" debuts on Toon Disney on Monday, February 18th at 7:00 PM EST.
