Sci-Fi Shows - Return Dates
As you probably have heard, the Writer's Strike is over. Now, we need to assess the fallout. What shows were hurt by the strike, and when how many episodes of our favorites can we expect to see this year?
Michael Ausielo over at TV Guide has created a list of information that answers most of our questions. It's tentative stuff, so he has a huge disclaimer that it is "UPDATED HOURLY!" Still, there is a lot of good information there, so I summarized his comments for the Sci-Fi related shows in the table below.
Ahh..we can hope. Here is the list:
| Show | Return Information |
|---|---|
| Bionic Woman | No new episodes expected. Ever. |
| Journeyman | No new episodes expected. Ever. |
| Chuck | No new episodes until fall |
| Heroes | Ausielo has TBD....but over at AICN, an interview with the Cheerleader, Hayden Panettiere reveals that "...she confirmed that even though the strike is over, Heroes is definitely done for the season. New shooting will not start until April which she will arrive a bit late for as she will be finishing up another film in Canada. So I guess we have to wait until at least September." |
| Supernatural | Two pre-strike episodes remain. Expected to shoot 3 to 5 additional episodes to air in April/May. |
| Reaper | Three pre-strike episodes remain. Future beyond that TBD. |
| Pushing Daisies | No new episodes until fall |
| Smallville | Four pre-strike episodes remain. Expected to shoot 3 to 5 additional episodes to air in April/May. |
| Lost | Six pre-strike episodes remain. Six additional episodes could air this season. |
| Moonlight | No new episodes until fall |
| Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles | Five pre-strike episodes remain. Future beyond that TBD |
| Eureka | Still no word, but no expected for a long time |
| Jericho | Seven episodes remain. No additional episodes expected for this season. |
| Battlestar Galactica | Ten episodes ready to debut at the start of April |
This is good info - but not that surprising. The real revelations were that "Bionic Woman" is not looking like it will return, and that "Heroes" won't likely be back until Fall. For my part, I'll be happy to see this set of "Lost" episodes, the Battlestar Galactica run and "Doctor Who", then call it a season. I'm ready for Fall!
