"Moonlight" Cancelled
I am a bit behind the times on this...but, "Moonlight" is not on the fall CBS schedule. I was merrily doing research on the Fall Sci-Fi television options and I noticed it was missing.
So, I found an official announcement. It seems that 7.5 million viewers each week was not sufficient to keep a vampire/detective/love story on the air. Crazy - that seems like a good amount of viewers! "Moonlight" joins a group of genre shows that did not make the cut, including "Bionic Woman", "Blood Ties", "Flash Gordon", "Jericho", "Journeyman" and "New Amsterdam".
The efforts to save the show are in progress - but we all know it is a long shot.
For my part, I really liked the "Coraline" portion of the storyline, with Mick and Coraline and the vampirism 'cure'. When it was just Mick and Beth, I wasn't as interested for some reason. However, even saying that, I was still watching every week.
So, barring a miracle, RIP "Moonlight". You had potential.
I am not surprised to read that Nina @ CBS wants us to stop bothering them on another website. I think I will vote with my remote and not turn on the set. I won't be watching any new programming on CBS just like I don't watch FOX anymore. I don't like investing my time watching a show that a network pulls the plug on unceremoniously. I guess they will have to find other jobs elsewhere if too many of us turn off the tube. I find my entertainment as you noted - the internet, iTunes and my books. I don't have to worry about my book series being cancelled. And my DVD sets are always on the shelf anytime I want to watch! :)
