"Dragon Age" Update

I thought this was going to be bigger.

The Dragon Age website had a teaser up this week, saying that we should come back on July 9th. According to Dragon Age Central, "...for all the waiting done by fans, generating 9 threads of anticipatory posts, the update was surprisingly spartan."

I'd agree. All that we really got is that the official name of the upcoming game is "Dragon Age: Origins" and that there will be a game trailer up early Saturday morning.

However, this does not diminish my excitement for this game. For those of you that haven't heard of it, "Dragon Age: Origins" is a computer role playing game which has been described as the '...spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate.'

That alone is enough for me, as I am one of those that think the Baldur's Gate series is the best set of games that I have ever played. Bioware is the company in charge of the game, so I have a good feeling that some of the BG glory can be recaptured. Even though I am greatly enjoying my time in World of Warcraft, I really love many aspects of a single-player, interactive campaign. It's like a good novel - only better!

Anyway, I'll be watching this one. I expect an early 2009 release date.
