"Eureka" is back!

I don't know why, but I think of "Eureka" as a guilty pleasure.

I really like this little show, with its robotic houses, quirky super-genius scientists and a refreshingly normal sheriff. It doesn't require the concentration or attention that a "Battlestar Galactica" or "Lost" demands - and that's good. Every show does not have to be excessively cryptic or mysterious.

"Eureka" is just a nice, enjoyable show.

So, that said, even though I'd consider it one of my top ten shows to watch, I still feel a little guilty about enjoying it so much. I am putting it with "The Middleman" as a show that just makes me smile. These are the shows that I want to watch after a long, hard day - pure fun, pure entertainment. (By the way, if you haven't checked out "The Middleman", well, "Chocoholics Anonymous!" - you better check out Episode 7 on ABCFamily tonight!)

"Eureka" airs on the SCI FI Channel on Tuesday nights at 9:00 PM EST, starting July 29th.
