The CW has a big night scheduled for Thursday, September 18th - both "Smallville" and "Supernatural" kicks off their new seasons!
Unfortunately, a premiere date is about all these two shows share.
"Supernatural" is one of the best shows on TV. I have been anxiously awaiting the fourth season premiere, as I really have to find out how Dean gets out of Hell. Despite having a built-in 'monster-of-the-week' premise, there is an overall storyline that carries the show throughout each season. It's smart and consistently good.
"Smallville", on the other hand, lost me several seasons ago. I tired of the endless "kryptonite" plots and finally, in the only instance that I can remember, removed it from my TiVo. That's a pretty strong indictment from me!
I even came back to watch the 'Justice League' episode - and, although it wasn't horrible, it was not nearly of the quality level that would have made me come back to the show.
There is some hope with a new creative team, and a hint that we might see Clark finally fly (for real, not under a kryptonite-esque ruse. Maybe it will get better - but I am not holding my breath.
"Smallville" will debut Thursday night (September 18th) at 8:00 PM EST, with "Supernatural" immediately following at 9:00 PM EST.
