"Pushing Daisies" Cancelled

I recently posted that I was considering dropping ABC's Pushing Daisies from my TiVo Season Pass list. I just had lost interest in the show. What was once fresh and innovative became, in my view, tiresome and pointless. In the interest of full disclosure, I did end up dropping the show.

Well, I didn't realize the power that I was wielding! Several sources are reporting that ABC "...opted not to order additional episodes of Pushing Daisies". Similar announcements were made for "Eli Stone" and "Dirty Sexy Money" as well.

Fans of these shows have been waiting for ABC to order a "back nine" for these shows, since the common practice is to order thirteen shows, then order nine to eleven addition episodes for the second half of the season. The announcement that ABC is not ordering any additional episodes is the effective cancellation of these shows.

So, for the remaining fans of "Pushing Daisies", series creator Bryan Fuller has suggested that he would " to continue telling this season's arcs in a comic book format, just to tie up all the loose strings -- and believe me, there are plenty." So, although the series may be dead, the "Pushing Daisies" world may live on. That's fitting, don't you think.

You aren't the only one to blame. I gave up too!

I love that show, it's the best show on television. It needs to continue. I love it and anxiously await every new episode! At least a full season! :( :(

I'm very saddened at the loss of a truly "CLEAN" family show. It was different and fun, with great characters that I really wanted to know better. The saddest part is that shows like this go by the wayside, and shows like Nip/Tuck, and desperate Housewives and sex and the city all seem to flourish.

I very sorry to hear that they have canceled Pushing Daisies, and I wish they would reconsider that decision.

I can't believe that ABC is canceling Pushing Daisies! I love the show and really want to know what happens to them! I did hear that it will be continued in comic book form but for me, that won't be the same.

I wish ABC would reconsider.

Pushing Daisies was the only show I watched. Goodbye, TV.

How can ABC cancel Pushing is the only good, clean, entertaining series on TV. I'm sick of the cop, doctor, lawyer and negative "reality" shows that keep staying on the air. Our family looks forward to watching it every week...geez!

Pushing Daisies is the only show that has ever truly caught my attention immediately...i just began to get really into when i found out that it was going to be cancelled...this show contains everything:mystery, romance, and can u resist it...i believe that if this show is cancelled than abc will be making a huge mistake and loosing a quality show that has been lost in recent years.

I find it sad that an original, smart and funny TV show gets cancelled while a multitude of cookie-cutter shows seems to flourish.

I agree. Too much cops, lawyers, reality crap. This was fun and original. My wife and I made this our 'date' night to watch Daisies. sad sad sad.

ABC is making a huge mistake cancelling Pushing Daisies. I look forward to watching it every Wednesday and if I miss it, I make sure I catch it online. With Pushing Daisies gone, I won't have any reason to watch ABC anymore. I just wish they would cancel the stupid reality tv shows, or the redundant cop and hospital shows instead. Pushing Daisies was the most original and entertaining show that television has seen in a long time.

I can't believe ABC is cancelling Pushing Daisies. I have watched this show from the beginning and look forward to it every week. The actors each play their role so convincingly. I enjoy the Emmerson's dry humor and the challenged romance between Chuck and Ned. Olive and the aunts make the show complete. I will really miss this entertaining show.

this show was fun and exciting. I love the dialogue, the way it's written and delivered. I am appalled that ABC decided to cancel this show, I always made sure that I catch every episode, haven't missed one since.

I waited and waited until the writer's strike ended so I can finally see the new episodes and finally it caught on. The episodes were getting more and more interesting and fun to watch as weeks went by and

now all of the sudden...they're canceling it?! big mistake ABC. big mistake!

This is SAD.
