New "Dollhouse" Tonight

FOX is initiating the burnoff of the remaining "Dollhouse" episodes tonight. FOX will air back-to-back episodes (i.e two per each Friday night) at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM, and continue that strategy until all the episodes are gone.

However, that is not necessarily a bad thing! Aintitcoolnews is reporting that tonight's two episodes are as good as we have seen in Season 2.

I am inclined to agree with their assessment. With the addition of the always-awesome Summer Glau as the techie from D.C. (think, another Dollhouse's Topher) and Ray Wise, who was so good as the Devil in "Reaper", the building blocks are there for some compelling episodes.

For some interesting reading, check out Mo Ryan's interview with series creator Joss Whedon. Joss gives a very honest assessment of the show's performance and what could have been done differently. He doesn't exactly sound bitter about the handling of the show - it's more like he feels FOX missed opportunities to let him push the boundaries of network TV. It is an excellent interview and provides some insight into the plan behind the show.

"Dollhouse" will complete it's run on January 22nd, 2010.
