Oprah's Rule Will End in 2011 ... Maybe

The New York Post says the Cult of Oprah may be dealt a serious blow in 2011. The paper says Oprah Winfrey recently told a group of television executives in Las Vegas that she will end her syndicated talk show when her current contract expires.

Her empire -- sorry, contract -- expires in six years, so a whole lot could happen between now and then (like a billion-dollar extension). Oprah mulled retirement in 1997 and 2002, but she delighted millions of "O" subscribers by not following through. -- Mac Slocum
