TV Stars Prep for Fog Remake

Tom Welling ("Smallville") and Maggie Grace ("Lost") are making the jump to the big screen in a remake of the 1980 horror flick, "The Fog." The Hollywood Reporter says Welling will play a small-town boat owner who has never strayed from the confines of his sleepy Northern California village. Grace will tackle the tough role of college-girl-home-for-the-summer. Both will confront a freaky fog that summons homicidal ghosts from the thick mist.

Rupert Wainwright ("Stigmata") will direct. Filming is scheduled to begin in March with an eye toward an October release. -- Mac Slocum
