Lost Caption: Terry O'Quinn Lockes up an Emmy

The final weeks of LOST Season Three proved beyond all doubt that Locke has regained the mojo he seemed to lose during his time down the hatch. But if there is still any doubt that the Terry O'Quinn portrayed character is a true bad-a$$, check out this colorful chronicle of Locke's on-Island exploits.

In fact, O'Quinn's performance in "The Man Behind The Curtain" was so dominant, the crew was instructed to stop filming during this scene, and hand O'Quinn the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

To celebrate some much deserved recognition for Terry as well as for the best show on television ever (stated as fact, not opinion!), Locke is once again the subject of this week's LOST Photo Caption.

Post your caption(s) - or acceptance speech - through the comments area at the bottom of the page. Namaste!

When does Lost's new season start? I'd even settle for re-runs.

Locke: "Thank Jacob I won, cause these are the worst Emmy seats ever!!"

Thank you, thankyouverymuch . . .

I just want to take this opportunity to thank all the little people who are
literally below me at this moment for all their support . . . I wouldn’t be where I am today without their sacrifice and unswerving decay . . .

Special thanks to Marge (right there below my right foot) whose special talents in wardrobe keep my well worn duds in one piece . . . And gosh, the whole prop crew, Jim, Joe, Ralph, Maynard, Frank and Phil . . . sorry Phil, didn’t mean to poke your eyehole with this emmy . . .

Speaking of poke, I think I’ve landed on Jane and Morty . . . Don’t know what they were doing in the last few minutes of existence, but one of them obviously still has a “boner” . . .

(ch-ch Boom Crash . . .)

Thank you Mr. drummer-man!

Thank you, thankyouverymuch . . . .Can’t you just feel the love here? . . . Before the orchestra music and the forest voices start, I just want to put out a big SHOUT OUT to all my good buddies . . Meg, Butch, Bunny, RedNeck Man . . .hm - strange name . . Miss Longthought, Ransom, Mac, Cecil, Clem, Crispy, Ben, GatorGal and becre8ve . . . I love you guys! . . . You’re da best! . . . . I’d blow up anything for you! . . .

[Cue Orchestra]

That’s all now. Gotta blow this scene . . no pun intended!. Good Grief, feels like I’m laying in a pile of tinker toys! . . .

Thank you. thankyouverymuch . . .

Either Wed, Feb 6 at 10PM EST (The current official story), or Mon, Feb 2, at 8PM EST, (the current rumor).

I don't think they're planning any reruns, but the Seasons 1 and 2 DVD's are available now and the season 3 DVD comes out in about a month.

#7. Posted by: Cecil Rose at September 24, 2007 1:48 PM

Oops, make that rumor Mon, Feb *4*.

I just posted a football story I've been searching for for the past three weeks on the prior picture. Check it out. It's funny.

Thank you so much Terry for the shout out. (He's making a special bunny ears signal with his hand...) I love you two. Especially since I don't think you've actually blown up any bunnies on the show yet. Stick to the hatch, the comm building, and subs, okay?

Caption - After party interview.

TO'Q; "How did I get that 'dreaded, I'm going to die', look on my face during the death pit scene? I'll tell ya, 'method-acting', with a little help Jorge. Catering fed him a twenty-four ounce can of beans for breakfast. Then, just as we were getting ready to shoot the scene, Jorge climbed down into the pit and let a monster one rip... I've got to say, there is not much acting involved when you get a whiff of a big Hugo Hurley Howdy."

TO'Q: "Was it uncomfortable working on a bed of prop skeletons? What? Didn't you read the credits? We had tons of celeb cameos that episode. Under my right elbow is Calista. Above me is Paris. To my left is Ms. Moss and under foot is Nicole. Not so great looking without any make-up, are they?"

#17. Posted by: MorBid0 at September 25, 2007 1:31 PM

Locke: It's funny I know, but I've never gone to bed with an ugly woman. Well yeah, I have woke up with a few.

To davidrh: Remember when bayonet training began and the recruit took a stab at it?

To Clementine: Remember when panty hose were on sale and there was a “run” on them?

To Bunnylover: You don't get to be a safe driver by accident.

To Cecil Rose: Remember the rumor of free drinks? It was "shot" down.

To Red Neck Man: Developing a pot belly over the years is a waist of time.

To Alais_Longthought: When he lost the case, the handsome lawyer was appealing.

To Everyone out there: The Steelers are 3 and 0, baby!!!!!

Malcolm David Kelley: Mr. O'Quinn! What are you still doing down there?

Terry O'Quinn: (gasps) Walt?

Malcolm David Kelley: (rolls his eyes - great, another method actor). C'mon Terry, snap out of it! It's ME.. Malcolm.

Terry O'Quinn: (gasps) Walt?

Malcolm David Kelley: Tonight's the Emmys, remember? Damon and Carlton sent me to get you. Mike Emerson's already on the plane.

Terry O'Quinn: (gasps) Walt?

Malcolm David Kelley: (frustrated) We filmed this scene SIX MONTHS AGO! See how much taller I am?

Terry O'Quinn: (gasps) Walt?

Malcolm David Kelley: And WTF is that SMELL? (he leans closer, then abruptly turns away and begins vomiting...)

Terry O'Quinn: (Smiles)

Malcolm David Kelley: You put REAL bodies in there?? (rolls his eyes - method actors!!)

Terry O'Quinn: (gasps) Walt?

Carlton Cuse: (motions to Malcolm from behind a nearby tree. raises a copy of the script from the season three finale)

Malcolm David Kelley: (nods in understandment. turns towards the pit) Now get up John!

Terry O'Quinn: (gasps) Walt? (he motions towards his legs indicating that they don't work)

Malcolm David Kelley: Get out of the ditch, John.

Terry O'Quinn: (sputters) Why?

Malcolm David Kelley: Because, you have work to do

Terry O'Quinn: (Smiles)

Harold Perrineau Jr: (screaming from a distant, unseen location) WAAAAAALT!... WAAAAAAAALT!

Malcolm David Kelley: (rolls his eyes - method actors!!)

There was an article in the new TV GUIDE that Cynthia Watros (Libby) will be returning to LOST this coming season. Obviously playing Hurley’s dearly departed sweetheart again for multiple episodes, presumably in more of Desmond’s flashbacks. Cuse says that “She’ll be in enough of the show for us to fill in the missing pieces of her story. There are still some very cool parts of her story left to tell.”

You think?

#24. Posted by: davidrh at September 26, 2007 10:12 PM

I hope it's the crazy dark-haired Libby from the cuckoo's nest. That'd be hot!

#25. Posted by: Red...Neck...Man at September 27, 2007 11:46 AM

Be careful what you say, RNM . . .

DarrellAnn is the highly volatile jealous kind . . . I wouldn't be making cracks about some OTHER hot chick . . .

(FYI: Sad news. DarrellAnn no longer lives here. She is in hiding somewhere in the "north" I understand . . . They don't tell you much concerning the witness protection program, as you can imagine...)

But, to be on the safe side, RNM . . I'd watch my back, if you know what I mean? . . .

@Trinity, #21
Yeah, but the Pats use cameras :>)

#27. Posted by: ButchM at September 28, 2007 4:27 PM

davidrh - great!! I certainly hope this is true. Her story has been one that has fascinated me from the beginning, and I couldn't believe it sat dead for an entire season.

Only four months to go!!

Did anyone catch the Lost reference on NBC's "Chuck" Monday night? Catch it here:

For you fellow Firefly/Serenity fans out there...

Alan Baldwin (Jayne) has a major role in Chuck (it's actually the only reason I've watched the show) It's cool to see him on TV again.

Speaking of Firefly... I saw "3:10 to Yuma" the other day and was pleasantly surprised to see Alan Tudyk (Wash) play a major role. Without ruining anything, I will say that Alan's role reminded me so much of his Serenity role that the film put me into total PTSD (I've never yet recovered from Wash's "a leaf on the wind" scene.)

And, in an attempt to justify the lack of Lostness in the above two paragraphs and bring things back around again to Lost ...

For those of you that aren't familar with Firefly/Serenity, it starred Nathan Fillion - AKA Kate's policeman husband, Kevin, from "I Do" (season 3, episode 6.) The scene where Kate tranquilizes him was taken directly from a Firefly scene and was quite funny to see in a Lost episode.

#29. Posted by: bcre8ve at October 4, 2007 1:23 AM

->29: Okay big Baldwin fan. It's ADAM BALDWIN not ALAN.

(for others - not a Baldwin brother either).

#30. Posted by: AlphaBeta at October 4, 2007 9:08 AM

Oops, ADAM Baldwin / ALAN Tudyk. That's what I get for posting at 1:30 in the morning. Thanks for catching that, AlanBeta oops, I mean AlphaBeta.

#31. Posted by: bcre8ve at October 4, 2007 9:58 AM

Ahh, Firefly. One of my all-time favorites. I tried Chuck and couldn't get into it. Adam Baldwin was the best part for me. Occasionally, Joss Whedon will mention how he'd like to do a second Serenity movie, so I have that on my fantasy wish-list along with a DVD release of Homefront, EZ Streets, and/or China Beach and a second (and better) X-files movie. Oh, wait, that last one might actually happen!

  1. If your post contains spoilers -- or even hints at spoilers -- add ***** SPOILERS ***** to the top of your comment.
  2. Your post will NOT immediately show up if you post any URLs. Because of ongoing spam issues, I need to manually approve comments that include links. This sucks, but it's the only solution at this time.
  3. Super-long URLs screw up the page. If you post one of these, people will get very angry at you and really, no one wants that. The solution is easy. Go to and create a mini URL.
  4. Do not post under multiple identities and then have inane conversations with yourself. This kind of nonsense will get you banned from the blog.
  5. Do not post in ALL CAPS FOR YOUR ENTIRE POST. In netiquette, all caps suggests you're screaming. In etiquette, it's lame. All-caps posts will be deleted.
  6. Please scan through previous posts to see if someone has already addressed your theory or comment.
