Lost Caption: Desmond Falls Back

What does a Scotsman do after turning the key, imploding the hatch, and making the sky turn purple? He goes back in time, of course! In this WTF moment from Season Three's "Flashes Before Your Eyes", Desmond finds himself transported to a pivotal time earlier in his life.

This time, will he be able to set things right? and change the course of events that brought him to the Island??? NOT! Oh well, guess Des will have to wait a few more years to get his first real taste of MacCutcheon's!

I gotta confess, I'm starting to show advanced symptoms of late stage SHOWL (Sheer Horrors Of LOST Withdrawal). I plan to spend every moment between now and January 31 just staring at this countdown :

Countdown to LOST: The Season 4 Opener

Or, perhaps it's better to just skip to the end of Season 6 to see how it all ends. (No black screen or journey music!)

Post your caption(s), cheesy puns, or other LOST ramblings through the comments area at the bottom of the page. Namaste!

During a game of Charades, it took a dive bombing leap from a height before Desmond got Song, 3 words...

"Penny's from heaven!"

Penny had an Inspector Clouseau fetish... unfortunately for Desmond, that meant she got to play Cato.

There's just something wrong about painting your walls blood red...

DEEEZZZZ! I warned you what taking too much of my Pamprin would do!

#4. Posted by: JoePike at October 4, 2007 1:54 PM

Aw, Dez, are you doing those bloody whip-its again??!!

#5. Posted by: meg at October 4, 2007 2:43 PM

Hey, Pen, guess who I am! No guesses? I'm Eko during the last 2 minutes of "Cost of Living!" Hahahaha! OK, now I'm doing Tom on the beach in "Through the Looking Glass..."

See how far I date my self ...

Screw you, Bond!

Penny: "You know Dez . . usually the performance artists who perform body painting are actually NAKED, I think . . "

Senator Craig: Oooooooo . . .

Wow MAC . . Can you put vacc's countdown clock at the top of the "Lost Reviews and News" column?

#11. Posted by: davidrh at October 4, 2007 9:26 PM

Mac (or anyone) can snag a customized counter at:

The only problem is - when do you count down to?

Also, Vacc, I believe your timer is two hours off. At Noon here (EDT) it showed x months y days, and 9 hours to go. But from noon to 10PM, and considering the EDT/EST time shift is 11 hours. So apparently your timer is pointed to Wed 6 Feb at 8PM, or someone's done the time shift backwards.

Compare your timer to the to the first URL listed above.

@Cecil Rose: when do you count down to?

I intended to use Wednesday, February 6, 2008, 10PM UTC-0500 (for EST), but I just took a look and noticed I used 8PM instead. Good catch! I updated it to 10PM UTC-0500. (sorry everyone, two more hours to wait, unless the rumor of a Feb 4 air date is true).

PENELOPE: Why is it that EVERY TIME there's work to be done, you pretend to get injured, or just disappear for YEARS?

DESMOND: Penny! It's really you! You'll never believe what happened to me.

PENELOPE: That's right, I WONT believe it. You always make up these insane stories.. about the future.. or some crazy island.. or polar bears.. once it was even wine-tasting monkeys..

DESMOND: Actually that was WINE-MAKING MONKS.

PENELOPE: You've been hanging out with that Donovan a little too much.

DESMOND: That's it! Donovan! He'll know what this is all about. I have to go Penny.

PENELOPE: That's it Desmond, I've had ENOUGH! You pick up that brush, finish painting, clean up that mess, and admit that you're a lying Sack Of .. or I'm going to my father and tell him to have you put back in that mental hospital.

DESMOND: Alright! You caught me red handed!

I've bookmarked a timer for both. And every so often I check the ABC website for announcements, but none so far. And I posted a question to the "Ask the Producers" area, but no answer or announcement so far.

Des: 'And this is the proper way to do a stomach crunch.'

Penny (running over to him): 'NO...NO...NO! I must hold your legs to spot you!'

#17. Posted by: Red...Neck...Man at October 5, 2007 2:50 PM

DES: (in his best Sean Connery brogue)... "eghz zat yu munny-penny"?

#18. Posted by: DocH at October 5, 2007 8:33 PM

Is that the satin finish, Dez? Or the semi-gloss? Hmm, now that I see it on the wall, I think I would prefer a more neutral color. Maybe a nice eggshell or ecru. How many coats do you think it will take to cover that red? Dez? Dez?!! Well, there’s no need to be so dramatic. I told you I might change my mind again.

#19. Posted by: Clementine at October 6, 2007 1:39 PM

More charades anyone?

Topic: 80s TV stars

Penelope does her best Lindsay Wagner Bionic Woman slow-mo run/jump while Desmond perfects his Scott Bakula Quantum Leap “disoriented” look.

With all the talk of countdown clocks, it occurred to me that we are over halfway across the barren Lost-less wasteland on our quest to Season 4. (I think the halfway point was around Sept 29th). So congratulations and Namaste to all the die-hards still checking in at mac's Lost way-station. Keep hydrated, watch out for Smoke monsters, don't feed the polar bears, and step quickly. We'll be there in no time. Only four more months to go. Now, who has the compass?

#21. Posted by: Clementine at October 6, 2007 1:56 PM

****OFF SUBJECT*******

sort-of . .

Somebody last week mentioned that little blurbs about LOST are showing up in other shows this season . . the mention of Oceanic Flight being lost in a mental spurt on Chuck? . . . So tonight:

I walk into the den and my wife is watching Law and Order: SVU and so I sit down to watch the last half with her. The cops keep talking about chasing this bad guy named COOPER and when they finally catch him . . . it's the same actor who played Locke's Dad, COOPER!

You gotta know there's no coincidence here....It was very cool.

Four months and counting.

#22. Posted by: davidrh at October 6, 2007 11:13 PM

-> all: Yeah. I understand that tonight on 'Sunday Night Football' they are going to give a shout-out to the passing prowess of star QB 'Mr. Tom Friendly'.

#23. Posted by: DocH at October 7, 2007 8:41 AM

Oh!, and I understand that Animal Planet is getting ready to air a new documentary on polar bears that have recently migrated to tropical climates. Apparently it has something to do with the left-wing, liberal, lunatic conspiracy about global warming. They (AnPlan) also hypothesize [sic?] that a polar bear killed Steve Erwin, not a large manta-ray...

#24. Posted by: DocH at October 7, 2007 8:50 AM

@#24 DocH - I don't think they're tropical polar bears - They just got LOST midway through their migration from the north pole to the south pole.

They're actually Bi-Polar bears!

"Dez are you ok?"

"Aye. I'm just perfecting my impression of the Buffalo Bills losing yet another game on the last play!"

#27. Posted by: Crispy Seaplanes at October 10, 2007 10:42 AM

Pen: You bastard, Dez! Why were you spying on the Jets?

Dez: Damn it, Pen, it was Brady who made me do it. Them Pats can't be trusted, why do you think they are undefeated, eh Pen?

Unable to top CSI in the ratings, Lost decides to add a criminal procedure element to the show with Penny Widmore in the Marg Helgenberger role.

Season 4 too long a wait? You can always shorten it a bit if you go to Hawaii for the premeire party (assuming they're having one this season, and if you have a place to crash now that I'm not in Honolulu).

  4. Do not post under multiple identities and then have inane conversations with yourself. This kind of nonsense will get you banned from the blog.
