LOST Caption: Quest For Fire

In the second chapter of Season 5 - "The Lie", the 815ers bounce between the Island's past, present, and future. Here, Bernard attempts to cement his place in human history by being the first human to invent "fire".

Meanwhile, Neil "Frogurt" has high hopes of stepping out of the LOST background and becoming a pivotal character on the show. Apparently, actor Sean Whalen was so excited to finally get some spoken lines on the show that he failed to notice the color of the shirt that wardrobe laid out for him.

Rose: Make one more pun and I'll light this stick and plunge it burning through your chest.

Frogurt: Fair enough. Though for you, that would be rather *against the grain*, hehehe.

Rose (eyes narrowing): Neil. You're going down.

Rose: You've gotta be kidding Neil. We're moving back and forth through time and you still want Bernard to look at your loose filling?

Bernard: It's okay, Rose. The drill is almost sharp. And look... I just invented "Plackers".

Rose: (Excited) Terrific! We'll need these later to get the boar out from between our teeth.

Frogurt: Noooo! Not Boar again!

Rose: Calm down Neil. Or else you're gonna have to take a time out.

Frogurt: (Angry - shouting) Doesn't anybody get it? I can't EAT boar with this broken tooth.. And it wouldn't matter even if I COULD - because every time I eat boar I end up with HEART BURN!!

(As if on cue, a flaming arrow explodes into his chest)

Frogurt: Just think about it. I can put you guys in a great little hut on the north side for under a hundie a month. Thatch roof, new latrine, little patch in the back just begging for a garden... your retirement awaits!!

Bernard (huffing and puffing and muttering): He's been reading that real estate primer again. How does he think we're going to pay for that hut he built?

Rose: Oh hell yes. Pack it up, Bernard. We're retired.

Your timer assumes the S-6 premier is Wed, Jan 20 at 9:00PM. Where are you getting your intel? I haven't seen any announcement from ABC yet.

The ABC website says "the final season begins early 2010".

@cecil #8 - You're correct that ABC has yet to announce a date for the Season 6 premiere. The January 20th date for LOST is based on a run-order report on one of ABC's press websites. My countdowns are "unofficial" and will be adjusted if necessary once the date is confirmed.

@#11 Clementine, @#8 Cecil: Good catch Clementine. TV Guide confirmed yesterday (Nov 19) that the sixth and final season of LOST will kick off with a two-hour premiere on Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 9pm - 8 Central.
This adds 13 days to the original countdown - which I will update tomorrow when I post the next photo caption.
