Clues and Rumblings from the Lost Forum

A couple of interesting topics have popped up in Filmfodder's "Lost" forum:
  • Boone's radio conversation in "Deus Ex Machina" may have been a lot different than we initially believed. Forum member aztecprincesse guides the way to a downloadable recording of Boone's transmission, and if you listen closely it sounds like the unknown respondent says: "We're the survivors of Oceanic Flight 815." This contrasts with the closed captioning attached to the episode, which read: "There were no survivors of Oceanic Flight 815." Visit the thread for more information, including a link to the download.

  • In the same thread, member I'm Spartacus! lays out a slick new theory that'll make your head spin. You might want to take notes.

  • Forum member Kendric Moxon has been keeping an eye on a diary posted on the "Lost" official site. Kendric says a recent entry suggests that someone else knows about the hatch -- it's no longer exclusive knowledge to Boone and Locke. What does this mean? Who is this person? Read more in Kendric's thread.

Love the blog! A few quick responses to the threads you've linked.

First, a friend tells me she saw a promo for the next episode in which the slowed down version from the ABC website is used. She claims that, in this commercial, it's crystal clear that the voice says "No, WE'RE the survivors of Flight 815." If so, the most logical explanation is that Rose was right, and other sections may have survived the crash.

Second, I don't buy the whole timewarp theory of the plane. I think a more reasonable explanation is that Locke lost the use of his legs because it had to be Boone who went up into the plane. The island wanted a sacrifice (the price for entering the Hatch) but it couldn't be Locke. Notice how he begins regaining the use of his legs the moment the plane falls. I don't think that's a coincidence.

Third, wasn't Larry the guy with the rash?

Anyway, keep up the good work!

I think the "WE are the survivors" means there are other survivors. The plane broke in half and left other survivors elsewhere. Possible right?

I found this in the code for

If anyone should find this message, please get word to Sandra Rafflethorpe of Palm Avenue in Lewiston, Idaho that her sister, Sally is alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse...
