Lost Season 2 Premiere Date Announced

The second season of "Lost" will begin Wednesday, Sept. 21, according to ABC.

As previously announced, "Lost" will air at 9 p.m. -- one hour later than season one. It will be followed (for now) by ABC's new sci-fi drama "Invasion," which takes over the slot previously occupied by "Alias."

"Alias" (now sporting a new pregnancy storyline) premieres Thursday, Sept. 29 at 8 p.m. -- Mac Slocum

There are many theories on what the Island may be. I know many have already narrowed down their own opinions about such things as to the motives of the characters, especially one Locke, and question upon question boils in their souls about what is in the Hatch. Some say that "it",the "guard", of the Island is a creation or an origination from inside the Hatch, made by scientists(as you remember in one episode the mention of Rouseau's team of people being researchers or scientists of some type). Some would think that the Hatch is something to be left alone for the bad numbers on the side indicate that it was never meant to be unlocked by the survivors.Theorizing and anxiously thinking upon what this Island is about is enough to drive anyone beyond the frail edges of insanity...Thus I can only say this.

My mind is open to anything. I cannot conclude nor can I completely state that I know what this Island may be about. It may be a reality show, such as in the movie "The Truman Show",where they were purposely crashed there and are now being watched with tiny cameras and some of the people are being paid to act and say particular lines.Of course,I don't rest on this theory because things happen too spontaneously so I don't believe this to be the correct one, though I don't leave it out of mind. It may be that this is a different dimension through which the plane passed into when it hit the "turbulence of air". It may be that this is Jack's dream and the people are different characteristics of himself being portrayed in each person.

What I can tell all viewers is that anything is possible on LOST and that nothing should be discredited as impossible no matter how ridiculous and far fetched, for that reason so shammed and ridiculed could be THE answer to all the mysterious fears and wonders of the Island. Keep an open mind. Watch. Wait. And then...Decide.

thx ALot
Someone from south-africa

plz reply

#4. Posted by: Annette at August 14, 2005 10:06 AM

Annette -- The only people who definitively know what's in the hatch are the writers. However, I've heard rumors that the Season 2 premiere *will* address the contents of the hatch, so hopefully the answer isn't too far away!

#5. Posted by: Mac at August 14, 2005 11:34 AM

What did Boone hear from the radio in reply. When Boone said we are the survivors of oceanic crash 815. In reply he hears "No we are the survivors of oceanic plane crash 815.
It is offical there are more people on the island and that is why there are added characters for season.

I have figured out what some of the numbers mean.
4- when Hurley went to visit that lady about the numbers she said her husband died 4 years ago.there is more things to do with 4 as well.
8 and 15-The plane 815
16-the number of years rousseu was on the island
42-not sure but my guess is it is the number of survivors at the end of the show these arnt proven but have potential please respond to me

#6. Posted by: david at August 14, 2005 8:52 PM

the 42 stands for the 41 survivors in the manifest plus ethan when hurley was doing the "whos who" on the island thats my guess

#7. Posted by: chris at August 14, 2005 9:21 PM

what's the deal with the people on the boat that sawyer and the others found? and what happened to his son?

#8. Posted by: bjorn at August 14, 2005 9:53 PM

I think the people on the boat are 'The Others' Think about it, they came after dark, they came for 'the child' they didn't say weather it was a baby or not.

#9. Posted by: James at August 14, 2005 10:35 PM

I also watched the entire season 1 of lost b4 it aired here in the uk and it`s compulsive viewing.

Hmm maybe they have been abducted by aliens and are being watched....remember the film the lost city it was actually a alien ship that looked like a city..

Whatever the outcome all i can say is , i can`t wait!.

#10. Posted by: Cal at August 15, 2005 9:22 AM

Does anyone here think Charlie was actually the one who killed Scott? I don't think Ethan was the one who killed Scott.

#11. Posted by: Neon at August 15, 2005 1:55 PM

Neon -- Interesting thought. I never considered it, but I suppose it's completely possible that Charlie offed Scott. If I remember, wasn't Scott killed in a particularly cruel way? Something about having all his bones broken ... or am I just making this up?

#12. Posted by: mac at August 15, 2005 2:00 PM

theres one other possibility that i can think of. the reason the show is called lost is because they are all lost souls. they died in the plane crash and the island is some sort of purgatory. it seems possible since one of the main focuses of the show is on the demons that each character has to confront and overcome on the island - from heroin addiction, to a past as an interrogator/torturer. it seems like a possibility to me.

#13. Posted by: matt at August 15, 2005 6:37 PM

Just finished watching the first series. I reckon that the sland is inhabited by slavers\pirates, they dont want to be found so they have it set up that way for no communication + there may be some anomolie, hiding the isle.
If this is a cult of Pirates, they have been building a underground enclave for hundreds of years and the jungle is just cover. !Thats where Black Beards treasure went to... ;-)

#14. Posted by: Jonnypc at August 15, 2005 8:55 PM

The Matt's theory is very interesting. How did Locke get back his legs ? How they all survives without aches, hurts, scratches ? Why the "guardian" is invisible, all giant it is ?
But... why this giant make pure mechanic noises ????? Like a big Robot or special military caterpillar...
but... what are these strange dark smoked shadows we can see when the small group come back from the "Black Rock" gallion ?

#15. Posted by: Rey at August 15, 2005 9:33 PM

Mac - The reason I think Charlie was actually the one who killed Scott is he did not tell anyone what happen before Jack and Kate found him. I believe there is something between him and Ethan.... and that was the main reason he killed Ethan so no will know about it.

#16. Posted by: Neon at August 16, 2005 12:07 AM

The island holds many mysterys most of which are simple to work out. In season 2 all of your Q and Ans will be told.

#19. Posted by: Roz at August 16, 2005 5:15 AM

i reckon if we go the sci fi route, then the black smoke things are clouds of nano machines. oh, and watch the first episode again very carefully. in the beginning, when everyone is running around amongst the wreckage, you can see one of the black smoke things in the background. it flies over one of the engines just as it explodes. its very subtle, you may have to watch in slomo to see it. it swoops down over the engine quite quickly.

#20. Posted by: matt at August 16, 2005 8:04 AM

I love lost and was well pissed off when Boone died there could have been so many more storeylines with him. Walt obviously has some significane because even his step-dad refers to him as 'special' i think it was all somehow orchestrated so the others could get there hands on Walt, he also knew they shouldn't open the hatch. I think the hatch contains the remnants of another plane that crashed there years ago cus someone has to have set off the beacon with the original distress signal with those numbers and it was the numbers etched on the hatch.

#21. Posted by: ticklemepink at August 16, 2005 1:38 PM

I've just finished watching the whole season 1 in a week as well and I come from Czech republic, where the show's not gonna run for decades, I think, Nevermind that, but I reall think about the (mechanical) monster/guardian that it is a series of similar Hatches that openup with the explosions (you know, the mud and leafs explode and each and individual hatch open this way) and some kind of ropes or mechanical arms grab anyone close enough or trigger the next hatch which might me closer to the target. And the steam might be the monster's sight, if you watch closely after Jack throws the TNT into the whole, the black cloud looks like its closing its eyes or blinking.

Might be a crazy idea, but I may be right about the principle of multiple / simultaneously triggered hatches with ropes that catch people.

On the other hand, how could there be a hatch on the tree to grab the surviving pilot? And why did it let Locke go?

I think Locke is being honest but has been proven wrong about the monsters peaceful motives when it tried to kill him in the last part of the season.

Anohow, am really looking forward to the 2nd season. Take care guys

#22. Posted by: iohen at August 16, 2005 5:59 PM

and another thing that's up my mind: how many seasons can this series hold. I am not trying to say thet its bad, its perfect, I personally think it can hold hands with stargate (SG1 and Atlantis). But wha I am trying to say is, that the resources for the storyline might be very limited.

I say it will air for 1 more season, maximum two. Afterwards the writers might be running out of ideas. In the next season we will finally find out whats in the hatch, we already know how the others look like and who the survivors are facing, so I don't think LOST will hold as much as 3 seasons maximum.

#23. Posted by: iohen at August 16, 2005 6:18 PM

Anyone notice the polar bear in Walt's Spanish comic book? Is there a possible correlation between it and the polar bears that attack the survivors?

#24. Posted by: Strunk at August 17, 2005 11:14 PM

now this has been bothering me for some time, and ive noticed nobody brought it up...Who was Ethan? i do not think that ethan was one of the Others, because if he was, why would he be trying to steal the wrong child, multiple times, who is he for real, because when the Others took Walt, they came in a group of 4, Ethan was by himself, now i know Rousseau tried taking the baby, but she wanted her own child back. We dont know Ethans true motive...maybe he was used as a distraction from Walt...Maybe Ethan was a wannabe, and he couldnt get into the Others society and tried to get in by stealing the child, but he got the wrong kid, and ended up last thing, WAS IT NOT THE CRAZIEST THING WHEN THE SAILOR GUY TOLD THEM..."theres one thing, we gotta take the kid," WOW HOW CRAZY WAS THAT?!?!?!?!?

#25. Posted by: Eduardo Fraderiko at August 17, 2005 11:37 PM

yeah, i noticed the polar bear. walts a weird kid. like when he was reading a book about birds, one flew into the window at his step dads place. on top of that, he just didnt care. not a normal kid.

#26. Posted by: matt at August 18, 2005 5:31 AM

Could the numbers be the seat numbers of the main characters? or even the ones that go down the hatch?

#27. Posted by: rob at August 18, 2005 5:57 AM

well i was thinking the other day that maybe these surviors are dead but are waiting to get into heaven or hell. So maybe there was no plane crash, and that this "island" is just a waiting place to see wheither they go to heaven or hell.

#28. Posted by: Alex keeble at August 18, 2005 9:07 AM

I came to the same conclusion as matt, That the island is purgatory, limbo of some sort. Im form the UK too btw and just watched all 24 ep's in 4 days. Gotta lover the net.

#29. Posted by: Snowfake at August 18, 2005 11:55 AM

the doc's seat was 23, anyone know the others?

#30. Posted by: rob at August 18, 2005 2:59 PM

Yeah and Walt said "don't open it" I think there was something else in that comic we didn't see as the boy can create things with his mind and that bunker didn't get made on that dinky island.

#31. Posted by: rob at August 18, 2005 3:01 PM

If this island is just limbo or a place for lost souls, i would be very disappointed, i hate when clever and interesting shows turn up to be just jokes. But of course my creative thinking is limited, so i can´t think what will be the resolution, hope to be amazed by it. Really don´t know who is the child/kid/baby they are searching for, i think it´s Claire´s baby Aaron.
Looking foward for season 2, i can´t guess when it will be run here in Argentina!!!

JEREMMY : The numbers Hurley used to win the lottery were: 4 8 15 16 23 42 Last night, we saw the hatch had those same numbers engraved, in exactly the same order. (The crazy guy who gave Hurley the numbers picked them up from a radio transmission, so I presume they originated from the island in the first place). The numbers have appared in a lot of places. The flight was Flight #815. Kate's saftey deposit box was #815. When Charlie sold copy machines, it was model #C815. The time on Jin's watch is 8:15. In Locke's flashback of working in a department store, he pointed a lady to row 8 for regulation footballs, and row 15 for the foam ones. Danielle landed on the island 16 years ago. A lot of the passengers' flashbacks are from 4 years ago. Hurley's odometer read the numbers, as did his kph. The girls soccer team in the airport had all the lotto numbers on their uniforms. Jack was in row 23. Michelle Rodriguez (introduced last week) was in row 42. The reward for capturing Kate was $23,000. The numbers are everywhere! Should be interesting. JJ Abrams makes me laugh - the number 47 is a big part of his other show, Alias.

Hey I come from Russia and I started watching Lost while I was there. This is what I dont understand: why do this people take the young children? What purpose they surve? Maybe they are gifted in some way, like Walt is? And another thing. This hatch it looks like it goes very deep in the ground and the ladder is broken. I am very confused!!! The writers of lost keep throwing secret after secret at it's viewers. I guess we'll get our answers in the Season 2.

#34. Posted by: Misha at August 19, 2005 12:09 AM

Lost is a mad show, it just finished season 1 in Australia and cannot wait 2 get into season two

#35. Posted by: Tim at August 19, 2005 4:52 AM

I just wanted to let everyone know they are on the right track with the whole Walt scenerio. He is the key. He can manifest things from his mind.

#36. Posted by: nonames at August 19, 2005 9:11 AM

Yeah he Walt is a special kid. I mean how can a oversized polar bear live on a tropical island?
Somehow that bear came out of the comic book Walt was reading.

#37. Posted by: Misha at August 19, 2005 1:51 PM

I read somewhere that that comic's story is about humans attacking an alien spaceship without finding out what the aliens wanted first, who where friendly, so who knows I believe it was No1 green lantern vs the flash if that helps

#38. Posted by: rob at August 19, 2005 3:56 PM

hey im from uk jus watched all of lost and was reading thru all these and cant belive that no 1 notice in the scene wan the a buring ethan that he is still breathing so i think we will see him again!??????

#39. Posted by: john at August 19, 2005 7:45 PM

I just finished watching all of season 1 in 4 days thanks to the net. There are some really great ideas that people have, and I have to say I think I'd like to go with the idea of either another dimension, or the theory that they are all in a coma. I noticed that 23 was the number of their bording gate by the way. Also, even though it's just TV, an airline would never let a pregnant woman in her 3rd trimester fly!! That never happens!!

#40. Posted by: Maggie at August 20, 2005 3:27 AM

well im from the uk and i have also just finished watching season one in the space of a week.
my personel view is that ll the children are speciel in some way walt is obviously not your average kid and there was a big emphasis on the unborn child being speciel in some way i think that the adult charicters are just bystanders in a bigger plan.
the others (the people orchestrating the abductions and murders) are using children with gifts as tools and the island is like one big test lab.
the other would have taken other gifted children from other plane wrecks and poeple lost at sea some how the children are forced to make these things from there imagination real (things like the monster in the forest and poler bears)there will be some sort of complex where other children are rigged to machines oh and i think l think lok got the use of his legs back because the children orchestrating the events on the island gave them to him because they are using him as a tool to influance events in the group and he doesnt even know it.
i think they where supposed to find the hatch if you remmember when lok was neeling on top of the hatch the light came on in the small window this is when he interacted in some way with the others notice the laddr was all old and bent and broken yet the light came on this indicates that it is still used.
lok will be the downfall of the group and walt will some how be the saviour one idea that i am toying with is that the hole island is man made im pretty sure its a test facility to use kids with mind powers though season 2 will be phenominal best sgow i see for a long time and i seen a few shows

Lost is just the nightmare and the conscience of any character.

#42. Posted by: Poncherello at August 20, 2005 4:50 PM

HEy, Driss, from Paris...

tonight on french tv, the last episode of the first season ...
i've read what everybody wrotes, and the same for me, i'm very impressed to know what there's on the hatch...maybe a laborotary ?? a bunker ??

Damian > " Lost is just the nightmare and the conscience of any character " WHY NOT !?

#43. Posted by: Driss - on MSN at August 20, 2005 5:52 PM

So the piece of ass Jack speaks to in the airport bar is sitting in seat 42, and Jack is in 23. Apparently Boone hears a transmission while in the beach craft which replies 'No we're the survivors of oceanic plane crash 815'. The african american lady (to be PC) says early on that she believes her husband to be alive and that perhaps the people in the tail end of the plane also survived and are looking for them... Sounds to me like we're gonna meet them in season two. Plus Michelle Rodriguez is a big name, why just give her a tiny cameo? Give Kate something to worry about me thinks... ROCK ON!!!!

#44. Posted by: Ace at August 20, 2005 9:24 PM

I definitely agree with the theory that the passengers of the tail end of the plane survived and maybe somehow got abducted by the others. I kinda have the impression that they will be in hatch...

#45. Posted by: frenchie at August 21, 2005 9:10 AM

well something that bothered me was the first episode when jack first wakes up, for starters there seems to be a torch lying beside him and he is a couple of hundren yards from everyone else, the woman he was siting beside was lying with everyone else, but somehow he ended up in the middle of the jungle with the torch beside his hand?

#46. Posted by: rob at August 21, 2005 9:34 AM

We also have to remember that the comic Wlat was reading had a big polar bear.Maybe something happened like the time he was reading and a bird crashed in his window!Couldn´t be posible that the same thing thing happens with the polar beard?

I also think taht everything is fixed,as an experiment like a Big brother and the hatch is the laboratory...

#49. Posted by: Nat at August 21, 2005 9:41 AM

By the finale of season two viewers will know why the plane crashed, producer envisions Lost running "somewhere in the neighborhood of 4-5 seasons."
What the characters won't find inside, Lindelof promises, are aliens, a time travel portal or "a ship they can blast off in." Whatever is in there will involve those mysterious numbers that led to Hurley's lottery win and streak of bad luck in that character's famous backstory.

"Right from the start, in the season premiere, the numbers become a fundamental plot point for the season," Lindelof says. "People aren't going to be disappointed in how we use them."

Just some info i thought some of you would like to know about season 2!

* J.J. Abrams said the monsters are NOT dinosaurs.
* From an interview: "When his stuff works at its best, it's usually a story that takes you in through the characters and explains stuff sort of in a science-fact sort of way," Abrams said.
* The cast is huge so anyone could be killed off at any time.
* Everything we see is there for a reason.
* The survivors are not dead or in purgatory.
* The survivors are not in a dream or in someone’s head.
* The island is NOT manifesting people’s thoughts and fears

#50. Posted by: Angie at August 21, 2005 2:26 PM

Angie that doesn't leave us with much, but I think that when they go down the hatch they will find photos and information about themselves but nobody will be arround, like an FBI bunker.

#51. Posted by: rob at August 21, 2005 3:52 PM

i was reading and people were sayin that they thought maybe it was all a nightmere or they were dead so i just thought people would like to know

#52. Posted by: Angie at August 21, 2005 10:43 PM

Well, it all sounds good. One thing is that we know Rousseau got along with Ethan(thanks to the scratch on her arm), whereas she said she was only survivor. What does this mean?
In my opinion, Walt has some kind of psychic gift. That would make him act like a receptor to the number transmission throughout the air.

#53. Posted by: valmato at August 22, 2005 5:47 AM

I'm not sure about walt being psychic gift, the bird in the window could have been a fluke, as for the polar bears they appeared when the boy was missing his dog and he really wanted an animal, then there's locke who really wanted to be a survialist and to walk, and hey presto he can, then there's hurley who's sole mission in life is to find out about the numbers and now he can, I think there is probably more, but maybe there is something on the island, that increases your chances to get your hearts desire?

#54. Posted by: rob at August 22, 2005 6:07 AM

This could agree with the idea of experiment going on on the island. They still need some kind of energy to materialize people s desire like you say Rob. And this energy is provided by people having special abilities (such as psychic easiness for example). All the psychic gifted children (Walt and Alex and certainly "others" before) are maybe detected in their flights or boats and hijacked toward the island only because of such a psychic presence (a link between the numbers and the psychic stuff is certainly conceivable.

#55. Posted by: valmato at August 22, 2005 8:57 AM

My thoughts on LOST...

Could it all be an experiment designed by the military and/or government? Are they all under the influence of some kind of mind altering drugs that induce a virtual reality existence?

J.J Abrams has to keep us guessing... cleverly revealing tiny bits of info that will build up to the revelation of whats really going on. We will just have to keep watching and formulating ideas
whether they be right or wrong. My guess is that maybe we are all searching too deep for the answer.

I guess it could be similar to "Truman Show". BUT I think this is an original concept not based on any film or tv show.

#56. Posted by: Karen at August 22, 2005 9:02 AM

My vision of the serial is ths one. The scene takes place in Pacific where french Government organized in the period of 1965 - 1995 nuclear tests ... That's the response of Danielle and French scientist presence on the Islande.

The islands phenomens could be the consequences of nuclear tests.

To analyse impact of radioactivity scientists had imported animals on island.

The Hatch is maybe a door to access in a laboratory

What do you think about this thesus ?

but walts comic was about aliens, perhaps the aliens are giving what the surviors want, or their ship is, afterall a spaceship wouldn't have a handle on the outside.

#59. Posted by: rob at August 22, 2005 3:38 PM

Yes,of course. ... But my question : Why FRENCH scientists ???

#60. Posted by: jerome at August 23, 2005 6:00 AM

#61. Posted by: Pat_superduper at August 23, 2005 8:07 AM

Well I don't think they are the others

#62. Posted by: rob at August 23, 2005 10:25 AM

i think that down the hatch are a whole lot of tunnels, like underground the island has a whole lot of rooms and tunnels leading all over the place. when jack threw the TNT down one hole, the blast came up out of another hole a few metres away. that's what i think anyway.

#63. Posted by: frith at August 24, 2005 12:20 AM

tunnels to the other islands would be cool, they're sealed of to stop the tide flooding them, with a hatch with a handle on one of the mountains

#64. Posted by: rob at August 24, 2005 5:45 AM

I think that the island has served military purposes during either the vietnam or WW2. Perhaps some military development has been done there - and possibly gone wrong - and people on the island are exposed to some kind of radiation that makes them see things that are not really there. There have been hints about military activity, the most prominent of them coming from the wartime signal Hurley's acquantaince had heard before going insane...

#65. Posted by: Careful at August 24, 2005 12:18 PM

Who s got any clues about what the Black Rock is doing there in the middle of the jungle...

I am curious to see what you all think about it.

I first thought it could have been brought back from the see (after it sank) when the volcano unleashed itself and created the island. But it can't be, because of dynamite.

if walt is Psychic then why didn't he know the boat coming was bad. i think the theories about what walt read or thinks has an affect on what happens could be accurate. and the possibilty that there are more survivors is intruiging. also i think that the cursed numbers as someone mentioned could be the numbers of the seats of those who will survive. but the various ways in which the numbers have been instigated could mean anything.

#68. Posted by: Bodes at August 25, 2005 8:46 AM

who has used the numbers in the lottery?

#69. Posted by: rob at August 25, 2005 7:05 PM

I loved lost & cannot wait till the next season. But one thing is right the number refer to each of the main characters. Katy 23 (£23000 reward) 8 is in fact (don't quote me belongs to Sawyer) as his father kills himself when sawyer was 8 years old. 4 belongs to lcke as he has been on a wheelchair for 4 years. The other number I am trying to work out.

I am going to watch the season again & see if I can place the rest

my other opinion is that one of them are dreaming such as jack (the doctor) as we sore him falling asleep before the plane crashed!! i also think that the numbers are the main charictors seet numbers on the plane! i am the biggest fan of lost!! i now that walt is special in a way! can someone please tell me what is in the hatch and how long will they be on the island!! 1 more thing i think that the island is invisabe! thats why the french girl is reaserching on it!

well thats my own opinion!!!!!

Hi Guys,
2 elements we must keep in mind, I think.
- first, the psychic, the one that Claire visits. He doesn't know Claire before, he's not a BAD person and we can beleive that he would decide to do for the best. He knows that the plane gonna crash, so why the baby has to grow on this island, this particular island. The baby is still a PRIMARY key!
The psychic means that the baby would be dangerous, but why? I do not have any revelation for you, pals.
- second - no relation - the Black Rock and the fact that it is very distant from the seaa: do you remember when the wreckage of the plane was almost being swallowed by the sea, Sayd said that it cannot be a normal behaviour and I believe that the tunnels on the island could behave as for submarine, you know. The hatch seems to be hermetic - even if there is light - that is weird in my theory - and when the OTHERS want to, they let air off or get some in the tube and it is the whole island that is moving up and down.
Kind of crazy, isn't it ;)
That could be also the reason why Sayd doesn't get the RIGHT north direction on his compass, because the whole island is moving.

After all I read about the subject, my theory is not absolutly off the way :D

im from malaysia and also a LOST fan....i was kind off unhappy about how they ended season 1 but hey! tats the way the show is.....suspense!!
ok i feel that sawyer, jin and michael will survive....i dunno how but sumhow they will make it back to the island....and i think the monster = invincible metal robot( u can hear metal sounds when the monster appears...and when it appeared in EXODUS PART2..the trees in the jungle were being thrashed but u cudnt see a thing)....and as for the guess is it is sum kind of laboratory....and 'the others' are nothing more then a bunch of pirates catching kids and seling them off....who knows..maybe 16 yrs ago they jus passed the island and saw the french lady os decided to take her kid

#73. Posted by: XZ at August 26, 2005 9:47 AM

Has anyone forgot about the fact that the french womans distress signal was playing non stop for 16 years.....thats not just a duracell battery...what is it?

Another thing, people were finding the rope and following it from the beach into the "jungle" but where was it coming from....the sea....what is at the end of this? why didnt they investigate its origins?

Now Locke something is strange about this man, he meets the big scary invisible thing the first time yet it doesnt attack him and he says "I have seen the eye of the island and its beautiful"

#74. Posted by: Koala at August 26, 2005 2:46 PM

remember when jack first took some of the surviviors up 2 the cave he found two corpses, later named "adam" and "eve". my friend told me that apparently this has some relevance to jack and kate, as i believe that they both would rather die together on the island rather than leave. im interested to see if this storyline gets mentioned in series 2.

#78. Posted by: mac at August 27, 2005 7:12 PM

for some reason i think the 'monster' is actually a giant butterfly.

#79. Posted by: ged at August 28, 2005 7:40 AM

Great comments from many people. I think Ethan wasn't a wanna be, i remember Locke, said, Ethan was much better than him in several "survivor" thing, and we all know Locke is pretty good at that. Also i think something is very important. why the hell do they NEED a kid for? lack of parenting?a protection?, how do they knew the survivors had a kid, we didnt see them, no one did, what did Walt sence or knew about the hatch, who was Ethan?, why is a POLAR bear in a tropical island. I also think that possibility of lost souls, i thought about it when i saw the poster, before the realized of the series, that fits perfectly. and also, you really lost me when you said there were 2 abductees by the end of the episode, i didt got that, WHO ELSE?!

Well thanks anyway, guess i'll go crawl into a corner, bye!

#85. Posted by: rob at August 29, 2005 4:55 AM

right, here are some thoughts:

- island is moving(compas reading wrong directions + wreck in the jungle)

- the OTHERS could be just drugs trafficant i.e plane that crashed with heroin in it. Maybe it was departing from the island

- definitely no invisible monster but more some sort of gaz explosions (possible link to the hatch and to the movement of the island)

- numbers don't quite know, possibly something to keep viewers awake at night trying to work them out...

- I like th explanation from karen (island used for nuclear testing a long time ago so scientists+animals were brought to the island to figure radioactivity or other...)
- I would be very disappointed if they were all dead or dreaming or anything like that.

Hi,I'm from Hungary..You have very good theories, some of them like mine...well one little thing is on my mind:there are many-many misterious thing on this island-polar bear, others, voices...but how could the French chich live in this island till 16 years, if there are Others, monsters, polar bears...Icannot understand! That is the mistery!
I feel Walt and a little baby have to live ,grow up in this island, because the others protect them from something.Others are not bad,you will see.
So.I'm a very big Lost fan I'cant for wait the season 2!!!!

#90. Posted by: bonga at August 29, 2005 6:51 PM

I think you guys have some good theories! I can't wait for season two! My first theory was like one of the others, The Truman Show, but I think in adittion to watching them, they are testing them to see how they will react to the strange things, and how long it will be until they all go crazy and try to kill each other. Which I hope never happens. One thing really annoys me though, why haven't kate and jack hooked up yet?? lol ~NJ

#91. Posted by: Isabel at August 29, 2005 7:32 PM

I come back on my supposition dated 08/22 (island used for nuclear testing a long time ago by french scientists. Animals (polar bears par exemple) were brought to the island to figure radioactivity or other...)

One of the responses is in the question : Why there were french scientists on the island 16 years ago ?

Island has certainly interest scientists in the past

Remember, in 1985 in New Zeland, the Rainbow Warrior (Green Peace ship) was destroyed by french secrets services. The aim of this boat was to stop french nuclears tests in Pacific ...

#92. Posted by: Jerome at August 30, 2005 10:23 AM

hasnt anyone remebered in the episode of the flash backs of clair. the pshcic man tells clair that the baby is special and is very dangerous. mayb thats a clue for u guys

#93. Posted by: erase at August 30, 2005 2:49 PM

Steve from the UK here.
Ive also become hooked on this programme.

I think that they have crash landed in the Bermuda Triangle somewhere as they did say they crashed 1000 miles off course. I reckon thats how the black rock ended up there and why there are so many other people on this island.

The other idea i had was that they landed on a miltary testing facility and the 'monster' is a new weapon/security system for war. This leads me to the fact that an aeroplane cant split in mid air unless there was some sort of explosion or collision of some sort. So i think that the monster shot it down.

But like someone said...nothing is too far fetched for this programme at the moment.

#94. Posted by: Steve at August 31, 2005 5:11 AM

i think its just like the bermuda triangle on the map theres a triangle which sayid took from rousseau.
the compass dosnt work like when planes and boat fly and sail over the bermuda triangle there compasses radios and transmittors cut out just like whats happened in lost also i think the hatch is a submarine strange i know but its strange also how the black hole ended up in the middle of the island and one thing any one when in the uk were gonna get series 2 watched series 1 in 1 week trying so hard to get series 2 the same way need to move to america lol

#95. Posted by: samhoney at August 31, 2005 5:49 AM

hey it looks like steve stole my message

#96. Posted by: samhoney at August 31, 2005 6:31 AM

And why not Atlantis ???

#97. Posted by: charles at August 31, 2005 9:29 AM

I thought Bermuda triangle, too. But it would be so simple.But..what is exactle the Bermuda triangle?I think it maybe another time or sometihng else.
The others wanted the baby, but why want Walt?
Somewhere in net I read,in 19. episod, when Boone
was in the plane,he said "mayday,mayday...We are the survivals of....815. And what was the answer?
There were no survivals or We are the survivals????

#98. Posted by: bonga at August 31, 2005 9:49 AM

To anyone who believes that lost is anything like a reality show or the truman show they're dead wrong. If it was a reality show no one would be dead, it would be murder especially since the characters wouldnt know they're there and didnt give their consent. NO WAY IT COULD BE A REALITY SHOW.

#99. Posted by: chris at August 31, 2005 9:08 PM

so things you guys may wanna know

ok 1 you say invisable robot monster thing ye if you look closly you see that there is infact a robot claw when it grabs loch's(locke's) leg if you didnt see it then i advise you look in slow-mo and look if you cant see it all i can say is it is a claw with a black arm fact number 2 you say that the the hatch has tunnels well i was thinking has anyone ever thought thats how this robot travels this iss why you cant see robots why trees move why you see a light why it made a hole when it grabbed locke and why there is no footprints also have you thought the hatch was to lock it up thats what i think and also bermuda triangle stuff that may be true as the words of micheal if this island is so big why cant anyone find it also means this island could also be a sub which could also go on to WW2 conclusion

#100. Posted by: Dez at August 31, 2005 9:24 PM

oh ye please post ya thoughts

#101. Posted by: Dez at August 31, 2005 9:27 PM

something else when jack is seeing clair near start somthing hits that engine right i dont know exactly what it is but looks like a spoiler

#102. Posted by: Dez at August 31, 2005 9:34 PM

dont wanna get on ya nerves or anything but with my hatch theory walt said dont open the hatch to locke but he didnt know anything about it hmm the hatch can only be opened from 1 side 2 facts well only thing i can think of that matches it all together is the robot underground and that thing people called it the map thing i worked out it can be red herring or it could be a creature form the preastoric ages that walked on its hand backwards weighed 40 km and was hight of 2 metres on its back legs when when was on its back legs was red it was also said that bullets had no effect on it which may be why loche maybe wanted to go on that hunting thing thats all i can think off at the moment please post soon and hope you have answers for me and other man good info on that website :) you guys should check it out if you havernt done already ill try keep you posted on what i find.

#103. Posted by: Dez at August 31, 2005 10:43 PM

Dez:I've seen this scene slow-mo and I can see 2 black legs, which are maybe trees. But if you see scene step by step in slow-mo you can see Locke's leg have pull by the BLACK FOG which Kate and Jack saw. That it!There is no robot. In my opinion those have right who told this is a NANO ROBOT FOG.So I beleieve this is an alien attack or science research. What do you think? Please replay!!!

#104. Posted by: bonga at September 1, 2005 3:59 AM

hmm maybe its like a machine of war you know thing that like dominate the earth i mean why would they build or create somthing that dangerous on an island oh ye and the spoiler thing i think its just to make it look like the reason it blew up was cause of the perosn who got sucked in

#105. Posted by: Dez at September 1, 2005 12:01 PM

hmmm i just been looking around at the episodes again and relieased that there is black smoke everywhere even when the plane was taken in mid flight which means that the others the black smoke what ever is always around this lost seasons could go on for a long time before we find out whats really going on can anyone please give me some answers lol

#106. Posted by: Dez at September 1, 2005 2:09 PM

So you think the black smoke are the others?I agree.I think the others/black smoke taken the plane to the islandbut we donno why.And what about numbers?I get mad:))so many answers exist.
The numbers are the others's numbers. Why these people were choosen?Because whole of them have a deep dark secret of their life.Jin is an assasin or what,Sawyer,Kate are killers,Clair is not a very good mum,Mike not a good dad,Shannon a very selfish chicken,Charlie and the drog....Only Sun appears like a normal girl.Rousseau crasy. And I donno why was John in wheelchair. So meny question...

#107. Posted by: bonga at September 1, 2005 4:19 PM

to be honest i think loche is the answer i changed my theory i reckon now its a bio lab full of radiation explains why polar bear was there it was a test thing loche used to be called general connection? maybe it explains why the scienist team got wiped out what the monster is protecting maybe loche brang down that plane on purpose maybe he could walk the hole time or if the monster is nano tech it might have repaired loche reason why it didnt kill him first time the numbers are a conbination like a safe i think the scientist team came back from the ship when they died but the woman didnt go in cause baby i think it all makes sense where im going also i found a connect four puzzle i did the numbers and it matched the stars in the sky also i heard rumors that shannon finds walt in the jungle but noone believes her (anyone else agree with this casue i really wanna know if im making sense)

#108. Posted by: Dez at September 2, 2005 7:36 PM

also they need the children to reproduce or make somthing i really cant figour it out

#109. Posted by: Dez at September 2, 2005 7:37 PM

also i heard about the hatch anad what was inside its nothing of earth technology but the others i think are the black smoke and i think that they capture people on that island the boat they ran into was a patrol unit for the island making sure noone leaves i also think there are different groups of others we havernt discovered the whole island yet

#110. Posted by: Dez at September 2, 2005 7:40 PM

im not sure when the second series is coming out in the UK but as soon as it comes out in the US i gotta see it somehow, it sucks being in the UK

#111. Posted by: Tom at September 2, 2005 9:20 PM

the most annoying thing about this show is that it raises a host of questions, yet we aren't given info to form an answer, however we still try and answer the questions!

i think a key to the monster question is to ask yourself when the survivors come into contact with it. they always appear to be alone or in a precarious situation. this adds weight to the "lost soul" theory, that the monster is testing each character's resolution and courage, especially when one considers that Locke (the most confident survivor) appeared to handle his confrontations with the monster most effectively until the last ep.

possibly the monster is different for each person, it forms the most frightening image for each person it comes into contact with.

#112. Posted by: noel at September 3, 2005 1:39 AM

this stuff with the lost souls think about ye it really cant be right they wont be dead i dont think but alive and there for a reason and all the answer match up to loche if you think right if loche made this security system then maybe thats why it didnt kill him point number 2 he didnt want kate to throw down the dynomite which only happened when they 2 came back he wanted it to take it with him loche knows what is on this island loche is the key

#113. Posted by: Dez at September 3, 2005 5:40 AM

i'm ana, from spain,i've seen the whole first season of lost and i just LOVE it!
i wanted to talk about that theory of them being lost souls,i know it's been said that's not true, but remember that episode when locke puts that thing in Boune`s head and then he kinda dreams of her sister's death and all that?well, how could that happen in real?i mean, isn't that too fantastic?
about the kid,i'm completely sure he's got something magic, like, when he sees something he can make it happen or something like that, but that doesn't match with the reason why he says locke not to open the hatch....
what do you think?
i can't wait to see season 2!!:)

#114. Posted by: ann at September 3, 2005 2:26 PM

the thing he rubbed on boones head was a ddrug

#115. Posted by: Dez at September 3, 2005 9:52 PM

J.J.Abrahams or somebody else told they are not in purgatory or helll etc. The lost souls theory maybe too simply.I prefer alien attack or timeline theory.

#116. Posted by: bonga at September 4, 2005 3:03 PM

Hi iam form holland! Last week a friend of my gave me the season 1 of lost! i wachted it almost nonstop! Awesome Serie and like many others lots of thinking!

i checked the website!
entered the numbers and unlocked the season2 trailer. the one thing that keeps me thinking is the line
the are NOT the survivors repeated a couple of times!

I dont agree with the bermuda triangle cause there flight crashed serval hours after takeoff and the bermuda triangle is near florida. I also dont think that the island can lower and move up itself! That fits the black rock but i live in holland and the sea level back in the time that sort of pirate ships sailed my country (the netherlands) was for 40% water.

Roussau said at the end of the last episode "i heard them talking the wanted the boy! they came for the child!" but thats not clairs baby the child is walt thats why they came not to the island because the ship already set sail!

Lock doesnot know more about anything. They way he thinks and acts is because he can walk now! and the island gave him that! I dont agree that he could walk all the time. Remember the Safari flashback of Lock that he got mad that he could not go!

My Questions are:
What is the powercable that sayid found!
Where is the tower danielle talked about that sends out the signal! (known Technolagie)
Wenn lock was crying above the hatch there was a light!

Strainge thing is that Alfred Nobel invented dynamite in 1867. so the ship could not be longer than 138 years on the island.

like many others Questions Questions Questions
we all know more within 2 weeks! i can not wait!

#117. Posted by: Mar-10 at September 4, 2005 4:06 PM

ethan and french woman ethan = scienist me thinks

#118. Posted by: Dez at September 4, 2005 6:04 PM

In my opinion the powercable belongs to the signaltower. And Locke believes he knows about the island everything but I'm not sure..we don't know what happened when he saw the light from the hatch, but it is very important.
They are NOT the survivers, but the thought they were..this sentence drive me crasy, too:))Who the hell they are???

#119. Posted by: bonga at September 5, 2005 2:41 AM

hmm im thinking about that maybe its cause they all died at he end maybe its dead people in the hatch i really dunno this bonga only thing that confuses me ill email ya soon again if i get anymore

#120. Posted by: Dez at September 5, 2005 6:12 AM

Hey guys, let me know what you think about these theories and comments:

1. The Polar Bears were in transport from Seaworld on the Gold Coast, Australia, on their way to perhaps Sea World Miami, USA, seen as though there are no flights direct to LA From Brisbane, nor do i think there are any flights from Sydney to Miami Direct. If a dog can survive a crash in the freight section of a plane, then im pretty sure a couple of polar bears can too!

2. I read in an interview with the writer, that there will be more characters introduced in the second series, more survivors of Flight 815, i think that Sawyer, Mike & Whats his name will wash up onto another island, where the rear end of the plane will be.

3. 'The others' i believe are definately the guys that took Walt, when Syid and charlie went to the black smoke Syid said "there are no foot prints" - but he only saw from the side of the forest, i think that if he were to have walked around the other side of the fire, then he would have seen some, meaning they came from the water... perhaps a boat...

4. when people say that the ladder inside the hatch is old and broken, of course its bloody broken, are you trying to tell me that if you were a ladder and someone stuck TNT above your head that you'd be able to survive it? hmm? i think not! lol

5. there is something very unusual about Walt, when he was reading the book about birds for his school project, he was speaking of a rare australian bird, now tell me if i am wrong, but weren't they in the US when that happened? if so, how else could a rare australian bird get there unless something FREAKY was goin on? also, what did he know about the hatch, but i dont believe the others took him for that reason, i dont think they know about this freaky stuff, i think they are just kidnappers.

6. I like the theory about the nanobytes (mini machines) being the 'monster' i think that it is very unlikely, but makes sense at the same time..... know what i mean? i dont think i even do...

7. I also like the theory about Ethan & Charlie being in kahootz, i didnt realise it untill before when i read that persons comments, could be linked somehow!

8. another thing, how the hell did Loche know about 'Theresa Falls up the stairs, Theresa falls down the stairs' - that gives me chills, literally, and how did he know of the light plane crash? even in detail, like the colour of the plane.....

too many questions, and they wont be answered until February for us in Australia, how lame!

well keep up the good guessing work, anyone want to discuss a few things about lost, or the price of fish in china, ad me to your MSN - - peace out rabbits!

#121. Posted by: Switch at September 5, 2005 10:02 AM

hmm some1 been thinking lol

#122. Posted by: Dez at September 5, 2005 11:54 AM

2 monsters thats why loche ran second time he reliesed it was a diff monster

#123. Posted by: Dez at September 5, 2005 11:56 AM

#124. Posted by: Dez at September 5, 2005 12:41 PM

Walt was in australia when the bird flew in, his mom and step-dad lived there and mike came to pick him up there. They were flying back to america from him picking walt up.

#125. Posted by: chris at September 5, 2005 9:43 PM

There are a lot of mysteries on the island that as of right now there is not enough clues to come up with answers to.

However, there are a few things I'd like to point out. First off, Sayid not being able to get his compass working right. Then there was the high tides that were abnormal. Also the way the pilot said they were really far off course from where they should have been. My suggestion, like one other person on here, is that the island is mobile. It would explain why there were drug smugglers from Nigeria on a small plane all the way out in the Pacific Ocean between Australia and the US. It would also explain why there were polar bears, which are not indigenious to Antartica, but actually from the northern hemisphere.

Also, the cables. If anyone knows their mysterious phenomenas, there was an experiment called the Philadelphia Experiment which happened in the 1940's. All of it is unexplained, but the stuff that I do know is that the military was experimenting with electrical cables around a military ship which helped generate a massive electro-magnetic field that would render the ship invisible. Depending on what you read and how much you beleive, supposedly part of the experiment was also to see if you could instantly "jump" from one destination to the other. During this experiment, there were supposedly horrible attrocities. People were phasing in and out of existence and being fused into walls. It caused others to lose their sight and their mind's. The whole thing is kind of a myth that has some historical and science fact.

I think this is a good possibility. As for Walt and Clare's baby...or the numbers or the others...well I think those are all mysteries for a future time.

#126. Posted by: Gino at September 6, 2005 11:51 AM

MAybe ths island is mobile 'cause this is not an island. If they are not survivors It's possible they were catched with for example asgard or wraith technology ,like in stargate to a ship which is the shi.I can imagine that. When we know what is in the hatch we can decide it's an alien attack or science or military project.Or dont:)))

#127. Posted by: bonga at September 6, 2005 1:54 PM

I mean they were catch before the plane crashed.Because if they "landed" with the plane they should be dead!

#128. Posted by: bonga at September 6, 2005 1:56 PM

Hi. I was part of the post production team on season 2. Do you want some spoilers?

Posted by: noel at September 3, 2005 01:39 AM
this stuff with the lost souls think about ye it really cant be right they wont be dead i dont think but alive and there for a reason and all the answer match up to loche if you think right if loche made this security system then maybe thats why it didnt kill him point number 2 he didnt want kate to throw down the dynomite which only happened when they 2 came back he wanted it to take it with him loche knows what is on this island loche is the key

You would think that a member of LOST's production team would be able to spell simple words like DYNAMITE, and also simple character names like LOCKE....not LOCHE. Hmmmm...not too convincing dude, especially your huge run-on sentence from the 2nd post, it doesnt even read like english should. If in fact a retard like you got a job on the production team for LOST, then i think the series is doomed....hahaha

#130. Posted by: Tim at September 7, 2005 8:57 AM

I think everyone is forgetting something quite fundamental to the show...

How on earth did the survivors not die in the crash? And, how the hell did Jack physically end up in a bamboo ridden, dense forest, with no way of landing there from above due to the fact that he would most certainly be impaled by the trees.
I don't think they even crashed, because the opening scene shows them all no the beach, nobody is coming out of the plane, Claire is 50 metres away at least screaming for help - they must have been placed there. What baking my noodle however, is WHY?!?!?!

My theory is that they have all been SPECIFICALLY placed there for a reason, to play out their specific roles. My only definite is that Jack HAD to have been dragged into the forest where he wakes at the start (maybe by the others).

Kate would get fucked so hard - her ass has a great butt-fucking design.

#135. Posted by: tochamba at September 8, 2005 7:34 AM you guys think sayid and shannon will stay together..they make a cute couple..and sayid is HOT..but, honestly..if they're rescued..i seriously DOUBT they would stay together..religious and cultural differences and all..a great story line would be if shannon got pregnant by sayid..just a thought:P

#136. Posted by: leeza at September 9, 2005 6:05 PM

They will not stay together I think, Shannon very selfish, she leaves Sayid if somebody else gives her more.

#137. Posted by: bonga at September 10, 2005 3:03 PM

This is kinda old... but I noticed someone said the number 42 refers to the number of survivors when Hurley used the manifest to keep track of everyone. In actuality, there were 47 survivors (a famous number used by JJ Abrams in the entire Alias series and the first episode of Lost). The death of the the US Marshal brought that down to 46... the death of the drowning victim to 45, and the death of Boone to 44. It's also interesting to note that in the flashbacks leading up to Jack's wedding, his fiance wore a jersey with the number "44" on it.

The death of Artz would bring it down to "43" so someone must die to bring it down to "42", correct? Perhaps Sawyer won't make it...

#138. Posted by: Jeff at September 11, 2005 6:16 AM

Was it really necessary to include the bit about an Alias "pregnancy storyline" in the annoucement for the Lost premiere? I logged onto this site to find out what the Lost premiere details are and, up til now, have been successful at ignoring rumors about Alias... now it has been spoiled. Try a little more tact next time, people.

#139. Posted by: Upset at September 11, 2005 6:21 AM

1. while they bury ethan he is breathin,
2. the cable goes underground when they follow it, probably to the tunnels, to which it supplies power.
3. ethan and rousseau have scratches probably because of claire
4. all of them are connected before the crash to one or the other.
5. and they are 42 on the island , cause the dead are marshall, joanna, scott, boone, arzt.
there were 47 in the begining
6. locke is freaky cause he saw a dream in which boone had blood all over himself and he saw his mother and the plane. i think he understood that he had to betray boone to walk just as his mother betrayed him so that his father got a kidney from him. and that the island needed a sacrifice , that is boone. well only a theory.
till later see ya all

***Get Ready To Have Your Mind Blown***
**Deep Thinkers Only!**
I have the ultimate theroy that I have yet to hear anyone talk about, but beccause I am discussing it, I feel that I have in turn jeopardized the theroy itself (read on to understand more.)
I believe that there is a very common re occurance between a number of different repeditive issues (Ex: Backgammon, making ammends or redemption, thoughts influencing actual reality, Lock's guiding of the others etc) are all repeditive. I would like to focus on my favorite one, peoples thoughts and there effect on the island.
If you take each major incident in the movie and look at what people believed going into the given situations, I belive that you can acuratly show that people on this island create there own reality. The young African American boy and Lock are prime examples of this, when the boy reads comics of polor bears, they appear (on 2 seperate ocasions), when he reads of birds they come crashing into his window, when he visualizes throwing a hunting knife perfectly he does, when he wants his dad's initial boat to be destroyed it did (my theroy.) This is further reinforced with all the charcters in one way or another but only Lock knows it and he is systematicly trying to prepp everyone for something beig to come down the road. Also Hurly believed it was is fault that the plane crashed due to a curse(maybe it was, maybe he created it to crash by sheer will alone like the boy.)
I could site over 50 occurances where when people in this show willed something to happen or believed in it, it happened! LOCK IS PREPAIRING THEM FOR SOMETHING BIG!
Lock figured it our first becouse of is legs and his strong will to survive, endure and (at the time of the crash) walk.
Now, let me make the rabbit hole a little bigger (This is going to blow you deep thinkers out of the water, true or not, its a fun theory.)
If you truely think there is something to "willing things to happen" on the show as I have pointed out, then what is to say that the writers are not experimenting on us all (viewers) by incorperating our own thoughts, idea's and theorys into the show. The first time in TV history that the viewers have partisipated (unknowingly) with deciding the events of a series and thus creating the possibilities and story lines.
As the lost crew create their own reality on the island, we create our own reality here in society, we are all, LOST!

#141. Posted by: Charles A Creteau at September 12, 2005 11:35 AM

I totally agree about the last part. I have thought that for a while now.
The writers are searching through all these blogs for ideas for the show.

Whether they are or not, theyre clever. How many other TV programmes have got the viewers hooked this easily and got them thinking of this many different theories?

To write a story like this and to give so much to us but give so little away, in my eyes, its clever.

#142. Posted by: Steve at September 13, 2005 4:56 AM

Did anyone notice the blooper in the last episode? When Michael was fishing Sawyer out of the water after he went in for the rudder - for a brief fraction of a second you can clearly see another boat behind Michael about 100 yards away.

#143. Posted by: Mike at September 13, 2005 6:32 AM

You know what, I saw that boat when watching the exodus in its US version. But guess what? Once aired in France, this boat was not anymore... At least this clarifies the situation for people thinking that the boat was acting too weird to be manmade...

Hi im from Australia and i love "Lost" i feel lost when i dont get to watch it. I must say the only thing that bugs me is that when every show starts they show like 10mins of the past eposiode and thats where that bugs me. You just want to get straight into the show.
I do believe that they are "Lost souls" and thats why they are all linked tongether. The have unsolved issues to deal with and they wont relise it till it happens.
I cant believe how all of you fans out there have all different solutions and i think its great im learning heaps about everyone point of view and it makes thing a little easier to put the picture together.
If anyone has news about series 2 please let me know.
Keep up the good work everyone!!!!!!
bring on series two!!!!!!

Has anyone considered the possibility that Ethan was the son lost by the French female? Just a thought that occured to me while reading other postings. If my math is correct, he would be approximatley the right age.

#147. Posted by: Tami at September 14, 2005 3:33 PM

One things for sure...and that is in the case of LOST, nothing is for sure...I really hope in a few seasons they can really explain fully the questions the show has already posed, to say nothing of the ones yet to come...

#148. Posted by: Brad at September 14, 2005 6:07 PM

Tami - I've been thinking the same thing about Ethan being Alex - maybe he was being kicked out of the Others group in favor of a new child. Maybe he could get back in with the Others by giving them the child they wanted.

#149. Posted by: Kendra at September 14, 2005 11:50 PM

No - she was on the island for 16 years, which would make Ethan 16 years old at most and he was in his late 20's to early 30's as far as I could see.

Yea, I'd like to know a couple of spoilers.
Pass 'em my way.

#152. Posted by: Steve at September 16, 2005 7:36 AM

hi , just wanted to say look at the black smoke again after they put the dynamite into the whole and it explodes. u can see some faces in it.

so i have made my theory of this being an alien experiment to see the way man reacts to the environment. it was all orchestrated by the aliens. and the others are people like them who have been on the islands for a longer time. well anyone out there who thinks i may have a point.

#153. Posted by: roshan at September 16, 2005 2:28 PM

sorry made a mistake, i was so escited to see the faces in the smoke. in the entry above it is HOLE not WHOLE.

#154. Posted by: roshan at September 16, 2005 2:30 PM

Tami & Kendra:Ethan is not Alex I think Alex is a girl.In my op Alex is the blond woman who burned the raft when Walt was taken.

#155. Posted by: bonga at September 18, 2005 3:11 PM

Hi, my name is Sarah. I'm from Ireland. I heard that the season ends by them finally opening the hatch. Then it just ends and you don't get to see in it. I also heard that the whole thing ends on the note that they are already dead. They are stuck in Limbo. They will go to heaven when their soul is ready. They can't get hurt cause they are all ready dead, they can feel pain but not die until they are ready. How could Charlie survive being hung and boone wanted to die. One more thing Micheal's son I forget his name, is GOD. Yes god. That's why he burn't the raft. He knows they can;t get away. I'm not certain about this though. It all adds up though.
Luv Sarah.

#156. Posted by: Sarah at September 18, 2005 4:41 PM

Somewhere on lost forums i was given the clues that whats in the hatch is something we see every day.

Furthermore the hatch had "quarantine" on it - suggestive of a research facility , some kind of experiment - whatever.

Also ; when Locke was breaking down on the hatch - the light shone out. Why it shone out @ that time ...thats just the island being its screwy self

But could there possibly be a Monitor of some sort in there ? Experiments use monitors ! Could perhaps link with what Locke said - he'd seen the "eye of the island" ?

Also; how do we know those old guys that pinched Walt were "the others"

I do agree that Walt has the ability to create things when he thinks about them - the polar bears, the rare ozzy bird

Any speculation of the futures for Sawyer , Jin and Michael ?

#157. Posted by: Criss at September 18, 2005 4:57 PM

Sarah - director confirmed in interview they are NOT in purgatory

#158. Posted by: Criss at September 18, 2005 5:00 PM

I believe that the hatch is more simply pandoras box. In the episode where hurley asks locke what is in the hatch he says hope which in the myth was the last thing in pandoras box after all the bad things came out. Also the mad guy in hospital said that hurley had opened the box. The monster could also be one of the evil thing in pandoras box that got away but stayed to i suppose protect the box. But any way i believe that the hatch is Pandoras box.

#159. Posted by: alex at September 18, 2005 5:03 PM

just to add i also think that jack and the others are the other things that were in pandoras box they are not bad but each of them have there own evil or thing they have to get over. In the story of pandoras box each bad thing represents something. And the hatch is calling them back. Just a thought

#160. Posted by: alex at September 18, 2005 5:27 PM

I also agree that walt is special or can create things as he created the polar bears that he saw in the comic book. He also created that bird when he was doing his home work on the ozzy birds.

#161. Posted by: alex at September 18, 2005 5:32 PM

I've read in many forums:In the hatch there is a guy called DesmonD.But I donno who is that guy.

************END OF SPOILERS*************

#163. Posted by: Brad at September 19, 2005 10:44 AM

Based on what we know now...I believe the Island has something special about it...and over the years...decades...centuries even, it has drawn travelers to it. Meaning the Black Rock, the Beech Craft Plane, the Science Vessel that Rousseu came on and Flight 815 all wound up there for specific reasons....what those reasons are anyones guess....

I belive the Hatch was part of Experiments going on during the cold war days....50's-70's....and that something did make the people with Rousseu die, those that survived may have become carriers, and have survived on the Island for years without dying...It could be they took Walt, because his youth may be a factor in curing or treating the aliment they have contracted. The man in the Hatch may have been left behind to monitor the situation on the Island to be sure the "disease" never got off to the mainland.

Rousseu said there was a connection between the black rock and the sickness and after her people found that ship they started getting sick.

Now that some of flight 815 survivors have been there, I see some of the new arrivals to the Island getting Ill and Jack nursing them to health, one of the big reasons he's a doctor will be to help cure/treat those that fall ill.

I predict that someone on the plane will be responsible for making it crash....depending on who that person is, we'll now if it was a random act, or it was meant for the plane to crash there...I think this season we'll have a new survivor surface that has a connection to the Island prior to flight 815....

My theory on the numbers is two fold....they hold some special significance like coordinances or codes or a combination to a lock...(or locke)I think the numbers will also indicate things on the Island....43....the numbers of Survivors left at the end of the first season...41 adults, Walt and the Baby Aaron...

For further insights look at what each individual brings to the table, each have their own gifts...and reasons why they are they can help....

Also Rousseu talks in Riddles...try to find what she is saying by not taking it litteraly...I always thought the Black Rock, was what you'd think a big Black Rock or mountain or cave or something, turns out to be a name....I think we should analyze much of what she says by not taking her at face value. She may be infected with the illness and not completely sane, or very sane and just seems wierd having lived alone so long....

In the end, I think the bigger picture will be expalined in the basis of reality, with some cross over to the supernatural to explain why folks have visions and see dead people and other mysteries that seem other worldly....

#164. Posted by: Brad at September 19, 2005 11:48 AM

Hi, about the numbers: I was just thinking, 4-8-15-16-42...but backwards 42-16-15-8-4, perhaps is the number of suvivors left as time go by
They're now 42, but at the end (like the "other" 4 "survivors") could be only 4...

#165. Posted by: Sterling.CS at September 19, 2005 2:11 PM

I think quite frankly no one knows the plot. I have even heard that the actors themselves are being kept in the dark and the only people who know the plot are the writers and I wouldn't be surprised that even they don't yet know how the story will end. Anyhow , like most of you I was glued to the telly and can hardly wait for the season 2. Oh and I think there's something fishy about the blond - Boune's sister ( forgot her name) she's just about the only one who seems not to belong there. Anyone know when or where it'll be available???

#166. Posted by: Ozzy at September 20, 2005 9:16 AM

I dont think anyone here is claiming to know how it will end....Most of us are expressing ideas and thoughts that may or may not in the end be on the right track....

#167. Posted by: Brad at September 20, 2005 12:40 PM

hey everyone, so i got another theory, if there is someone in the tunnels , probably he is the one controlling the monster ( robot }. any the infection could be the black smoke, which moves as if it were alive.
my previous theory was about aliens and that the people are abductees, DOESNT ANYONE OUT THERE FEEL THE SAME WAY.
see ya

Special thanks to Mar-10 for posting the URL, I have tried accessing it from work unfortunately I was blocked by the firewall but hey can't wait to get home to try it out; just hope i'll be able to download it - I am based in France for the moment and I don't quite know when the programme is scheduled to pass on French television networks, I guess it'll take some time before it is shown over here. As for the legality issue, well I am not quite sure about it but if I had to guess I would probably say it isn't; Either way thanks to those people who put the programme out into the internet; I don't quite know how they do it or even how they got hold of the programme itself but hey I take my hat off to them. One thing I do know is that i am gonna enjoy watching it and I'll spare a thought or 2 for them. Cheers guys

#174. Posted by: VinZzZ at September 24, 2005 2:51 PM

Desmond a new character, we will be hearing from him a lot, a summary of what happened in season2 episode 1
it starts with a guy doing his usual morining thing gym, taking a bath in a rather luxurious flat, vitamins, coctails washing up, etc and all of sudden ther's a bang, the guy from relaxed mode switches into beserk mode he gets into a special room filed with computers and guns turns out the lights, and start using something similiar to a telescope only to find out that the bang he heard before was the explosion of the dynamite whacked oto the hatch.
tension goes up between Lock and Jack.
kate decide to go in (in the hatch), she sees something get panicked a little scream and that's it kate has desappered.
lock goes after her, same thing he desapperes and then jack goes after lock he enters the hatch carefully while remembering some meories back when he was a doc. when he gets to the bottom of the hatch he notices working pipes and lights as if he was close to a laboratory of somesorts he pulls out his gun as he walks around completly surprised he discovers a computer room, lock comes from behind scared with a gun pointed at his head, then Jack make the descovery of his shitty life the guy poitning the gun at lock's maltezers head is no more than Desmond a strange block, jack met a while ago back in the states.

Ok. I am still really confused about the connection between Ethan and Rousseau. He was clearly the kidnapper, but how did Rousseau get involved. Were they working together? They were not living together as there were no signs of Ethan in her house.
And how did Ethan get there?
Rousseau looks like she's been there for 16 years, but Ethan did not. Please give me your insight.

this movie will get us crazy,it is more than our brain can process, there are too many questions, but no answers, i'm from Romania and i hardly wait to watch seson 2

#179. Posted by: alexandru at September 28, 2005 6:36 PM

The logo is some kind of I Ching thing.

A lot of questions went through my mind when watching S2E1 - Where is all the power coming from? That was some serious hardware in that bunker so where is it all being powered from?

What is the link between Desmond and Jack and the island as a whole? Was their meeting coincidental or was it set up?

Where does he get his food? Clothes? etc.

And also from Season 1 - The cable that went into the sea from the french womans base - where does that go to?

I have a funny feeling that the island is not real, i.e. it is a 'set' of some kind, bot not for a TV program, maybe some wierd experiment and the hatch wasn't meant to be found.

#183. Posted by: roshan at September 30, 2005 12:34 PM

Hey all! Just watched the new episode and I might say IT IS CRAZY. Last time we saw Sawyer, Jin, and Mike they were imprisoned. Then the guy who put them there throws another girl there. She turns out to be that girl Jack talked to in the bar before the flight. I don't want to continue so I won't spoil everything for you, but I think that the people who imprisoned the guys are passengers from the back of the plane, because Ana Lucia(the girl iprisoned) was on the back of the plane. Also the people who draged Sawyer Mike, and Jin were wearing modern clothe. The only think I don't understand is why are they acting like savages. Oh and by the way if you haven't seen the promo for next episode- Jin the Korean guy speaks perfect english!!! I knew it! What the hell is going on.
If you play what walt is saying backwards it sounds like he is saying "Don't push the button the button is bad", notwhat the other guy said.

erm dno if ne1s sed nethin, bt about walts comic- he reads about the green lantern n im sure many kno tht he( the green lantern) creates manifestations with his mind. so, nethin he imagines can be created, like when walt thought of that bird n it flew in2 the window, or the polar bear. also the green lantern is an artist in the comic, n walts dad is an artist2. dunno if it means nethin. im stil watchin lost on normal tv at the normal schedule in th uk, so if im talkin rubbish, sorry!
