Post Your Lost Interactive Game Clues

Eagle-eyed viewers undoubtedly caught the Hanso Foundation "commercial" that aired during the May 3, 2006 broadcast of "Lost." The commercial is the first step in a broad interactive game featuring all sorts of "Lost" clues and codes.

Feel free to use the comments area below to post your observations, thoughts and discoveries. By combining forces, maybe we'll all figure this thing out! -- Mac

The number listed in the Hanso commercial -- 1-877-HANSORG -- is definitely the first step. I've heard folks are having a hard time getting through, but repeated tries seem to eventually do the trick.

What I found interesting is that the phone directory for the number lists a bunch of names, but the only one I caught (or recognized) was Alvar Hanso. Did anyone get the others?

#1. Posted by: mac at May 4, 2006 12:25 PM

Here's what I got so far...you dial the # and the voice says, "Welcome to the Hanso Foundation. If you know your party's extension dial it now. Other wise, Dial 1 for General Info, dial 2 for Alvar Hanso, Dial 3 for Thomas Vener-Middleverk (sic), dial 4 for Hugh McIntyre, dial 5 for Peter Thompson. So I dialed each of them and here's what I got...
General Info starts out, “The Hanso Foundation is located at…”, then someone named Persephone “breaks in” and says something about not trusting them they’re all liars, and to use the phrase, “Breaking strain/string” on the website.

Dial 2 for Alvar Hanso, Pres., C.E.O.
Voice comes on, “Where is Alvar Hanso? What have they done with him? Who’s in charge?”

Dial 3 for Thomas Vener- Middleverk (sic), Sr. V.P., C.O.O., Chief Technologist
Re. Pake-Heavy (sic), Widmore Construction active projects employees refer to confidential Information line

Dial 4 for Hugh McIntyre, V.P., Communications Director
Re. Korean Offshore situation, contact Legal
Re. Jupe (sic) – World’s Oldest Orangutan
Messages - From Thomas – Got the changes, looks good, should rename the Accelerated Remote Viewing Training Facility, put a public face on it

From Darla – We need to talk about Sri Lanka, it just isn’t right

Dial 5 for Peter Thompson, V.P., General Council, Secretary
Secretary named Irene, picks up phone, says something about the Korean Offshore situation/incident, Peter takes phone away from her, promises legal action against those who threaten him or his family.

You can find a transcript, mp3 files and screen captures from this at www.lost-and-gone-forever.blogspot.com

this site is an execellent supliment to Mac's outstanding reviews.

If you go to the Hanso website and register for the newsletter, you get an interesting response. Check it out, eiree(sp).

#4. Posted by: IcebergSlimm at May 4, 2006 2:09 PM

There is also another reference to Geronimo Jackson in the general information section of the voice mail.
Additionally, the Hanso Foundation site is back up. I googled it, which gave the www.bigspaceship.com link. The site includes the same picture of Hanso "addressing the U.N." as is shown in the commercial. The site also lists the following as Hanso Foundation projects: 1. Life Extension Project; 2. Electromagnetic research initiative; 3. Quest for Extra-terrestrial Intelligence; 4. Mathematical Forcasting Initiative; 5) Cryogenics Development Imperative; 6. Juxtaposition Eugenics Development Institute; and 7) Accelerated Remote Viewing Training Facility. All these have links, but the only one you can access is the Life Extension Project in which they talk about an chimp who they've kept alive since 1903. Hanso is described as supplying sophisticated weaponry systems during WWII, so he must be part of the aging experiment himself if he's still actively controlling the foundation.

#5. Posted by: maries at May 4, 2006 2:33 PM

By the way, I had to look up eugenics to make sure I knew the correct meaning: "the study of methods of protecting and improving the quality of the human race by selective breeding". Perhaps the "good" people are those deemed to be appropriate for breeding purposes, and why the children are singled out for capture i.e. so they can be groomed for selective breeding.

#6. Posted by: maries at May 4, 2006 2:45 PM

ransom....when i got through the phone line (only once), I chose option 1 for General Info but got a Dutch recording...strange! I listened through to the end and heard the website name in English, but that was it. I keep trying to get through again to hear the other options, but keep getting a fast busy.

#7. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 4, 2006 3:19 PM

You could also cheat by downloading the Flash file and decompiling it...

Not that I'm that desp- Oh, screw it, I'm doing it right now.

#15. Posted by: JDL at May 4, 2006 4:08 PM

If only the rest of us were lucky enough to know how to do that, JDL. I'm thinking of just going to the island and dismantling the computer itself to see what I can find. Anyone with me?

#16. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 4, 2006 4:26 PM

JDL -- Very tricky with the decompiling. Would you mind posting your discoveries if/when you stumble upon them?

Incidentally, I can only imagine the amount of work that's gone into the organization and the production of this game. The Hanso Foundation site alone represents an enormous effort. -- Mac

#17. Posted by: mac at May 4, 2006 4:30 PM

How do you access the mental part? VIC?
It says tell me more about you....

#18. Posted by: jenney at May 4, 2006 5:04 PM

Ok so Ive been through most of this, I have seen the documents etc. through the joop site after logging in,
also if you click
Active Projects
then Worldwide Wellness and Prevention etc.
then click world map(top right)
then click on the map near florida when the link hand pops up.
if you highlight under the box there is some writing that makes no sense yet, however i think it is an encrypted message, you can zoom in for a better shot also.

Another thing I have not figured out yet is if you right click and hit Show all, in the bottom right there is a text box where you can type something in and then click login... I have yet to find the correct thing to type.

#19. Posted by: Mesisca at May 4, 2006 5:06 PM

Looking at the board of directors shows a blank spot for someone named Liddy Whales.
Liddy/Libby? just a thought. Anyone figure out a login for board of directors information yet?

#20. Posted by: flprojekt at May 4, 2006 6:30 PM

I still can't get past step one of registering for the newsletter. I put in my name and click next. Then I type YES. There's nothing to do, nothing to click on but enter. What do I do next so I can get a password option???

#21. Posted by: Fayelle at May 4, 2006 6:49 PM

Figured it out - it's all about lower caps. Thanks anyway!

#23. Posted by: Fayelle at May 4, 2006 6:55 PM

If you read the letter, scroll to the bottom and click and you can read the response.

There is also a place to login on the board of directors page, but I haven't gotten a login/pass from anywhere.

#24. Posted by: Grimey at May 4, 2006 7:16 PM

Another place to apply pressure, go to Active Projects, Mental Health appeal, and click inquire today.

You can type things, but so far all I get is connection lost.

#25. Posted by: Grimey at May 4, 2006 7:24 PM

if you enter the passwod given by persephone (breaking strain) into the hanso foundation's newsletter section after entering your name, pesephone will send you some new messages, but that's not all. after this, if you try to send joop a message in the joop's corner section of the website, and connect the cells to each other, you will get a document detailing a strange disease in africa that started around the time the hanso foundations started experimenting there. this is followed by a quick remark from persephone, and then things return to normal... well, normal is relative.

#26. Posted by: arthickman95 at May 4, 2006 7:27 PM

_then click on the map near florida when the link hand pops up.

There are two sets of numbers in this gibberish and they are:

13/9/19/19/9/14/7

15/18/7/1/14/19

A simple letter/number replacement gives us:

M/I/S/S/I/N/G

O/R/G/A/N/S

:O

#27. Posted by: elstob at May 4, 2006 7:29 PM

In the Executive Bios section, the picture of Alvar Hanso is the same as from the Orientation film, but this time we get a DATE: October 28, 2003.

That would mean the film in Orientation was less than a year or so old. Boy...talk about your retro-film making techniques!

#28. Posted by: tropichunt.com guyâ„¢ at May 4, 2006 7:44 PM

What is up on the board of directors page? I can't get by it...

I connected the cells on joop's corner and i got this memo thing. Also, if u go to the very bottom, click on 'Peter Thompson' u get another memo. Click on the red circle on the bottom,a voice mail in red lettering comes up. CLICK ON THAT AND U GET BACK HOME.

#29. Posted by: murphdog at May 4, 2006 8:29 PM

what the hell is up with the funky writing on the world map?

#30. Posted by: murphdogg at May 4, 2006 8:31 PM

did anyone else notice that when you call the number, you get a foreign language, but during this, it clearly says "geronimo jackson"? I checked around, and it turned out I had forgotten jurly found an album by the band, you guessed it, geronimo Jackson. I don't know what it means, but it sure is freaky.

#31. Posted by: arthickman95 at May 4, 2006 8:46 PM

I'm pretty sure you meant Hurly, not Jurly

#32. Posted by: charles thompson at May 4, 2006 8:52 PM

right, sorry. Don't forget, the oceanic airlines website is also a possibility. if you copy and paste the home page onto a word processor, you get hidden distress messages, and a photo of claire's airplane ticket. I don't know if it's old news, but don't dismiss it

#33. Posted by: arthickman95 at May 4, 2006 9:16 PM

Does anyone know what to write when you go to the mental health appeal and you hit inquire and it says tell us a little about yourself?

#34. Posted by: Heather at May 4, 2006 11:46 PM

I was on another site and it is really freaky. The motion capture of Joop is overlaid with the picture of a person. When Joop goes crazy after you write to him the picture flashes and if you look closly enough you can see the outline of the man. I can't remember the website where I saw it though. Seems like I saw a link on lost.com

#35. Posted by: matthew at May 5, 2006 12:44 AM

could missing organs be a hint to lock and his father?

#36. Posted by: jenny at May 5, 2006 2:03 AM

Yeah i saw the outline too.
It was at the Hanso Foudation site.
Click on Joops page and type in 'Hello Joop' and the outline comes up. It was really freaky.

#37. Posted by: Chad at May 5, 2006 2:47 AM

What is interesting is that Sun's maiden name was Paik. Possibility that her father has a tie-in with Widmore and Hanso. He is a very powerful businessman.

Secondly; it is also interesting that there is a Mental Health section of the website. Leads me to believe that Hanso runs or operates mental health centers or hospitals...

Things that make you go hhhmmm.

#38. Posted by: anne at May 5, 2006 8:38 AM

Oops. I forgot to tell you all. This might be old news but the website
www.thelostexperience.com has some great recaps of clues and the like also including mp3's of the phone messages.

Australia hits next this Saturday. We might get more clues then. It was a little disappointing that the Brits and the Americans got the same clues/website/phone messages. Maybe they will change it up next time and we can all work together globally :)

#39. Posted by: anne at May 5, 2006 8:44 AM

Has anyone clicked on the "RSS" button next to the Login field in the lower right corner of the screen? I keep getting an error message but I'm not sure if it's my computer or if everyone is getting that?

#40. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 5, 2006 10:23 AM

Ok, so lets talk about Persephone... who is she? Goddess of the underworld in Greek mythology. Also "taken" from her mother by Hades as a bride, depending on the myth.

So, is she an angry person taken as a child by Hanso, trying to out the foundation's evil doings? Also, the random scribbling in the world map / florida coast message (missing organs?) the rest of the scribbling is greek characters... has anyone tried to decode it?

I like how Hanso is shaping up to be an evil organization, kinda clears that up.

BH

#41. Posted by: biohazard at May 5, 2006 11:13 AM

BH, only about 1/3 of the figures on the World Map are Greek letters. I had the 'fortune' of studying Ancient Greek in high school and tried to decipher them, but there doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason. The rest of the characters are what you would typically find in any word processing program's special characters section.

#42. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 5, 2006 11:43 AM

I'm not sure they've been working with Joop since his birth. The website says Alvar Hanso began his work during WWII, then gradually changed his focus to the betterment of the human race (Hanso Bio). Also, the Mission Statement mentions they started their work 40 years ago. Finally, in Joop's Corner, the quote from Peter Thompson says average lifesapn of orangutans in captivity is 60 years. Below that, it says he was originally harvested by British explorers in the early 1900's. I'm not so sure Hanso Foudnation has any involvement with Joop before the '60's.

#43. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 5, 2006 12:40 PM

Biohazard said something about persephone being taken by from her mother to be the bride of hades, just a thought but might this be connected with The French Ladie's, Danielle, child being taken by the others.

#44. Posted by: Heavens Reject at May 5, 2006 2:47 PM

OK, this is a weird one...go to amazon.com and do a book search for "The Bad Twin"...remember, that's the manuscript Sawyer was reading that Jack threw in the fire. Here's what the website says about the author:

Bad Twin is the highly-anticipated new novel by acclaimed mystery writer Gary Troup. Bad Twin was delivered to Hyperion just days before Troup boarded Oceanic Flight 815, which was lost in flight from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles in September 2004. He remains missing and is presumed dead.

I kinda want to buy the book but don't want to be suckered in here.

#45. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 5, 2006 3:41 PM

i went to www.hansorg.com ,clicked the numbers and was sent to a forum where it said enter numbers for next clue..did that..then got a message from alvar hanso that says..Why wait until the dawn of the wrong day to realize the importance of living, to undergo changes, crossing lines, meaningless but meaningful. fire is water , water is fire ,breathe new life.

#46. Posted by: bj at May 5, 2006 4:44 PM

Here's what "Hyperion Books" says about Gary Troup and the book "Bad Twin". It seems to directly relate to the themes of Lost --very interesting:

"Sometimes evil has a familiar face . . .

Paul Artisan, P.I. is a new version of an old breed -- a righter of wrongs, someone driven to get to the bottom of things. Too bad his usual cases are of the boring malpractice and fraud variety. Until now.

His new gig turns on the disappearance of one of a pair of twins, adult scions of a rich but tragedy-prone family. The missing twin -- a charismatic poster-boy for irresponsibility -- has spent his life daring people to hate him, punishing himself endlessly for his screw-ups and misdeeds. The other twin -- Artisan's client -- is dutiful and resentful in equal measure, bewildered that his "other half" could have turned out so badly, and wracked by guilt at his inability to reform him. He has a more practical reason, as well, for wanting his brother found: their crazy father, in failing health and with guilty secrets of his own, will not divide the family fortune until both siblings are accounted for.

But it isn't just a fortune that's at stake here. Truth itself is up for grabs, as the detective's discoveries seem to challenge everything we think we know about identity, and human nature, and family. As Artisan journeys across the globe to track down the bad twin, he seems to have moved into a mirror-world where friends and enemies have a way of looking very much alike. The P.I. may have his long-awaited chance to put his courage and ideals to the test, but if he doesn't get to the bottom of this case soon, it could very well cost him his life.

Troup's long-awaited Bad Twin is a suspenseful novel that touches on many powerful themes, including the consequence of vengeance, the power of redemption, and where to turn when all seems lost.

Bad Twin is a work of fiction and all names, characters and incidents are used fictitiously; the author himself is a fictional character."

Perhaps Jack and Locke are the "twins"

#47. Posted by: maries at May 5, 2006 4:44 PM

socompletelylost- I have already bought and read "Bad Twin". Aside from being just a great mystery novel it includes information about the following Lost related stuff- The Hanso Foundation...including some stuff about a gentleman named Mittelwerk. Alvar Hanso is also discussed as his Sun's father Mr. Paik. I don't want to say much more and risk ruining the book for anyone who hasn't read it yet...In the end..it DOES relate to the Lost mystery...check it out!

it seems to be a african man. Does anyone know who this is?

#59. Posted by: Chad D at May 6, 2006 2:05 AM

Well, I forgot to mention that when I called the number for Hanso, I got what pretty much everyone else has said, BUT,they did mention Monster.com
Interesting to say the least, then tonight being the crackhead(not litterly) that i am I went back to the website and clicked on "Namaste" to look up the meaning...low and behold what pops up with the def. A Monster.com addvertisement...Cowinkedink? I think not....I have tried the monster.com website but keep coming up with zip...help me out here guys....Thanks.

#60. Posted by: Jenny at May 6, 2006 4:50 AM

The outline is the picture of the man on the hansofoudanation under "Active Projects -> Mental Health Appeal"

#61. Posted by: chad at May 6, 2006 7:03 AM

Jenny, I thought the monster.com thing was interesting as well. I went on the site and tried to find all of the companies we've come across (The Hanso Foundation, Widmore, Paik) and none of them came up. I also thought it was interesting that they used Verizon when talking about the voice messaging system. They could have used a fictitious company name, but I guess that wouldn't have been as realistic.

I went to the following site, www.hansorg.com, here you get the two documents from the hanso foundation website and there is a picture flashing at the begining that looks like the doctor on the orientation film, then as you go down we get a new set of numbers 2,10,13,18,21,44, this numbers all add up tp 108, then there is a quote that says"The nations birth predicts its own demise and rebirth" any connection or clue here anyone

#64. Posted by: Heavens Reject at May 6, 2006 1:48 PM

hey, did you notice that
4 8 15 16 23 42
2 10 13 18 21 44
that is: 4-2=2, 8+2=10, 15-2=13, 16+2=18, 23-2=21 and 44-2=42
any theories
number 2 may mean something...

methinks that alias is going to merge with lost. If the www.valenzettifoundation.org site is not bogus, the Rambaldi, global paradigms corporation, hanso, Minnesota Metallurgy tie ins all go together. And there's Alias episode 1x19 'Snowman', 5x10 'S.O.S' and a whole bunch that have a familiar ring - Bob, Materity Leave, 30 Seconds, and more.

If you right click on the "Live Webcam" picture of Joop and click print, you can see the overlay picture of the man much more clearly. I can't tell who he is and I can't really tell what his race is. I think it may be a negative. He looks like he is kind of distressed.

Oh, I just got the http://md5.se/pub/misc/joop.htm website. This works much better. :)

#74. Posted by: Michelle D. at May 7, 2006 9:24 PM

I dont know if there is any real connection here but, what if the numbers are not important(4,8,15,16,23,42 and 2,10,13,18,21,44) but what they add up to is more important. i dont know if this what it is meant to be but 108 in simple letter code is A for 1, 0 has no letter, and 8 is H the initials of Alvar Hanso.

#75. Posted by: Heavens Reject at May 7, 2006 9:48 PM

I'm sorry, i might be missing a part of the puzzle, but where did the "new numbers" come from?

#76. Posted by: arthickman95 at May 8, 2006 1:11 AM

when you go to the mathematical predictions part of the hanso foundation site, the name of the country subject to the article and its capital are blanked out. Could this have anything to do with the location of "The Island"?

#81. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 9, 2006 8:18 AM

So is this latest clue suggesting that faux HG is really Alvar Hanso?

#82. Posted by: J-Rod at May 9, 2006 11:31 AM

I don't know, J-Rod.....I don't think the Alvar Hanso picture looks like FHG. Is that the general consensus and I'm just blind? What does everyone else think?

Also, did anyone else notice that in the sequence of dates and the different cities, that we jump from Roma on Sept 18, 01 to Copenhagen on January 1, 01? The 1/1/01 date in Copenhagen is out of order with all of the other dates. I don't know if it means anything, but it jumped out at me.

Nice catch socompletelylost. Those dates are definately out of whack. Also, when you keep watching after all of the dates...the morse code message definately says s-a-f-e-g....not s-a-f-e-r. Any idea what safeg is? Does it mean anything in dutch?

#84. Posted by: J-Rod at May 9, 2006 1:43 PM

Experiment 626 was Stitch in the Lilo and Stitch Movies...

#85. Posted by: NS at May 9, 2006 3:39 PM

From what I found searching the web, safeg means safeguards...no idea if that has any relevance.

#86. Posted by: Jack at May 9, 2006 4:10 PM

The Alvar Hanso picture - IMHO, it doesn't look like he's at a window, it looks like he's behind bars in prison. Obviously the picture is blurred and obscure for a reason. ????

#87. Posted by: hookedonlost at May 9, 2006 4:39 PM

Yeah, alot of people think his behind bars, therefore, bad quality picture maybe trying to hide some.

The morse code, when turned into binary code and then put through a ASCII translator the numbers that come up are

7698

People in the forum think its a date
7/6/98 any ideas???

#88. Posted by: Chad at May 9, 2006 4:53 PM

Anyone notice that a text input field shows up in the middle of Thomas Mittlewerk's bio on the Hanso website? I tried typing in there and hitting Enter but nothing happens. Anyone play around with it yet?

#89. Posted by: Rebecca at May 9, 2006 8:45 PM

Just watching the bird flue movie, they keep showing The Hanso commercial. The first time they showed it nothing had changed, But the second time they showed it at the end they said check out sublimenal.com, now that's what i heard but i actually missed seeing it, so therefor i am not sure how it is spelled. Can anyone help me out with it?Someone else had to have seen it!

#90. Posted by: Jenny at May 9, 2006 8:53 PM

More than likely, the Verizon and Monster.com references are just "viral" (no pun intended...) advertisements from companies sponsering this game. I wou;dn't dig too deep into it myself, but you never know!

#91. Posted by: Ted at May 9, 2006 8:55 PM

Just whent to sublymonal.com as shown on the bird flu movie: you have wait an interminable amoount of time and then get to see a tv screen with the word "code:" and then the words "Heir Apparent". That's all I've got - hope it helps.

#92. Posted by: Dan VP at May 9, 2006 8:57 PM

I then looked further around on the page . Under "sublymonal message unlocked" there's a black black space that is hyperlinked to the bios section of the hansofoundation.com website. Sop, is someone on there the heir apparent?

#93. Posted by: DanVP at May 9, 2006 9:00 PM

Hey.. After going through the Rss...I went to the bios site.. and i dont know how i got in the clock he word OB:EY, then i clicked on the obey and i entered a freaky site www.subLYMONal.com, there is a circle made of tvs and the word obey in the middle you go on clicking in the tvs... and after u get them all hoocked on you se a tv with some lines.. the word Code: then later the Heir Apparent. if anyone find out what that mean please do tell me!

#94. Posted by: Bebel at May 9, 2006 9:13 PM

Go to the Executive Bios and select Mittelwerk. In the new oval text box that appears in his bio, type "Heir Apparent", then tab and hit enter. The circles in the background will move. Continue to hit enter several times. You may need to tab before hitting enter each time. The circles should continue to move. Do it enough times, and a new browser will open with http://thehansofoundation.org/feed/thehansofoundation.xml. Haven't made it past that yet.

Also, I tried sending an email to Hugh McIntyre, but nothing back yet. I also called the 206 area code number for him from the press release and left him a page, but no response.

#95. Posted by: kelly at May 9, 2006 9:27 PM

Who wrote about the number 108? this is the time that is on that insane lil clock on the hatch

#96. Posted by: Bebel at May 9, 2006 9:30 PM

Instead of "Heir Apparent", try "heir apparent" and hit enter. Another flash site appears. It talks about Mittelwerk never attending that college and has a message that says Gary Troup must be silenced.

#97. Posted by: kelly at May 9, 2006 9:37 PM

Well I tried to photoshop different filters onto the possible "persephone" picture. I couldn't make out anything other than the object to the left of her in the first picture is a wheelchair, and on the second picture some filters make it look like she has some kind of injury on her left upper quadrant near the shoulder-her right shoulder to the viewer of the picture. But darn I was hoping to find more than that =-( .

#98. Posted by: chisai at May 9, 2006 9:44 PM

Did anyone notice that if you zoom in on the chic in the background she turns around? Is there anyway we can freeze that frame? Then it goes on to different documents that say that Dr.Thomas Mittelwork didn't attend college, and ask what he is a doctor of? Could anyone get more than that?
Thanks.

#99. Posted by: Jenny at May 9, 2006 11:11 PM

What am I doing wrong? All I get is an RSS feed. Where is this picture of persephone you all are talking about?

#100. Posted by: Michelle D. at May 10, 2006 12:12 AM

Sorry I typed too soon again. I got it. You have to login first. :)

#101. Posted by: Michelle D. at May 10, 2006 12:15 AM

I don't know if this is too far fetched, but "Heir Apparent" is an anagram for "repent, pariah". Pariah is defined as an outcast, like charlie, or Anna Lucia (although probably not her anymore). Too crazy? Heir Apparent needs to mean something, though.

#102. Posted by: Arthickman95 at May 10, 2006 1:06 AM

i am little confuse. where are you get morse code in binary in ASCII at number 7698? you say people think it is a date. is something happen in any people's back story, maybe something to happened on 7 june 1998, and when is before crash. maybe all people is similar happen in that day.

#103. Posted by: hy at May 10, 2006 4:33 AM

Did anyone else notice the girl pictured on the page for Geneomic Advancement looks a lot like the girl who helped Clair escape from the medical hatch? Alex again?

#104. Posted by: KJC at May 10, 2006 10:01 AM

OK, so apparently we are supposed to understand that Hanso is nowhere to be found and Mittlewerk is really running the Hanso Foundation....so what does that mean? Anyone?

#105. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 10, 2006 10:15 AM

Sorry Mac, I tried to post 2 URL's...my bad. Anyway, I was doing a search for the morse code letters "safeg". I came up with a website that is called the Health Systems Trust...dealing with healthcare and economics in Africa...anyway, if you follow the link and then click on the annual report pdf, on page 13 there is a mention of something called SAfEG or "South African Equity Gauge" project. Is this just a strange coincidence? Because this site looks totally legit...as in there are no Disney or ABC logos or copyrights of any kind. Have I finally "LOST" my mind or am I on to something?...Or both?

#107. Posted by: J-Rod at May 10, 2006 10:35 AM

Sorry for a second posting so quickly, but did anyone else notice this......the date under Alvar Hanso's pciture in the Bios section is October 28, 2003. ALSO, if you go to the Active Projects section of the site and click on Electromagnetic Research Initiative, the satellite picture shown there is listed as early morning hours of October 28, 2001. Obvioulsy, these are 2 years apart, but I'm sure it's not a coincidence that they are EXACTLY 2 years apart. I tried to figure out the date of the crash to see if it was also October 28, but the closest I can get to confirming it is from the Oceanic Airlines site, which suggests the flight took place on September 22nd. Any thoughts on a significance on October 28th?

#108. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 10, 2006 10:39 AM

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but you guys probably already know these two things:

1) When you click on the date under Hanso's name in the bio section, keep clicking a few times and then click the date again to reveal the last sightings of Hanso. Persephone reveals that he hasn't been seen in public since 12/31/02.

2) When you open the RSS .pdf document, there is a hidden link at the bottom of the document that takes you to persephone.thehansofoundation.org and it reveals a bunch of numbers. I guess we'll need that for something.

#109. Posted by: MissVal at May 10, 2006 11:22 AM

ok so here are my few thoughts can you rearrange the letters in hanso's name to create another word? maybe it means something also there is not enough talk on here about the oceanic-airlines site. Anyone notice seats stay blue when click some of them like you have to find a sequence also why does the letter f keep flashing by the economy 11-42 and the pre board check in where you have to spell other man???

#110. Posted by: metro at May 10, 2006 2:48 PM

also in track flight 572 it says giveus the boy 8 and 24 whats up with that there are answers here i just dont know what they are

#111. Posted by: metro at May 10, 2006 2:52 PM

I found a new link on the Hanso site. Click on the Dr. next to Alvar on the Exec. Bios. right in the middle of his bio is a line. Use the password breakingstrain. Notice the clock in the upper right it now says obey, not the time. soon you will be taken to sublymonal.com and you play a game. use "THE NUMBERS" on the screens surrounding the word obey and you will get a code. Use this code on the bio of the Dr. You will be taken to another screen with a woman in a doorway. then you see a transcript. Persephone then talks to you. This sh*t is getting freaky!!!

#112. Posted by: matthew at May 10, 2006 2:59 PM

Did anyone notice that Dr. Mittlewerk's bio is the only one that has a signature on it? I can't recall if it was there before. And, by the way, crappy handwriting, too!

#113. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 10, 2006 3:34 PM

I don't know maybe I am just looking to hard to find something but did anyone notice that if you do the whole "heir apparent" thing today and it takes you to the document about dude's schooling that it had changed some? Wasn't Gary Troup, covered up with red, and He must be silenced covered up in blue? Today it is all red and I don't see any writing under it. I know not much of a breaking headline here but it's something.Wonder if they are going to
put up a link to the word "mircle" tonight? Or should we just remember that word? I can't wait!

#114. Posted by: Jenny at May 10, 2006 4:08 PM

The page on the Widmore Group site listing corporate officers has changed to include pictures. I just noticed that Anthony Cooper (Locke's dad) is listed as being on the Board of Directors, including a pic of Kevin Tighe, the actor who plays the character.

Check it out: http://www.widmoregroup.com/corporate.htm

Sublymonal... Obey... wasn't this all part of an old Sprite ad campaign?

product placement run amok?

BH

#116. Posted by: biohazard76 at May 10, 2006 9:56 PM

Coca-Cola Co., has decided to take an offbeat, unexpected approach in a new advertising effort for its Sprite brand, which has been suffering from sluggish sales despite being the leader in the lemon-lime soft drink segment. The ads include bizarre imagery and strange scenarios and are intended to break "through the clutter of more traditional fare and keep viewers from zapping through them. Spots include scenes of a woman whipping a tongue and a floating green frog as well as one with two sumo wrestlers painted yellow and green who crush a man's head. The spots carry the line, "Welcome to Sublymonal advertising. Don't worry, it will only affect your brain." The ads sign off with "Obey," that was publications.mediapost.com just 8 days ago. there's definitely something going on with hanso and sprite, i just hope it isn't blatant advertising.

good spot biohazard. I watched the commercial on the DVR and in the first 5 or so seconds in the bottom left hand corner it says PAID FOR BY SPRITE.
this game is interesting but more importantly it is a very large(probably biggest ever) and very good product placement campaign

Have you guys seen that already?

#121. Posted by: Jessica at May 11, 2006 12:02 AM

FYI, the sites run super slow the night the ep airs, due to the spike in traffic... just be patient, it'll calm down...

The way they pronounced "Lymon" in the ad was what jogged my memory... I hope they don't louse up the game w/ placements. On the one hand, if they can integrate something for realism (say, if monster.com had a relevant job posting easter egg or something...) that might be interesting.

But if one of the Others tells Locke "Dude, you're gettin' a Dell!" or something in the next ep, then we'll know JJ Abrams has "pulled an Alias..." :)

Don't forget to drink your ovaltine :)

I toyed around with the Sublymonal.com site and if you mess with it long enough you get to a new password.
Heir Apparent.
Once you go to the Hanso site and log in with Breaking Strain you can go to the executive bios and click on Dr. Mittelwerk and enter the password into the prompt box in his bio you get a creepy scene with Persophone dressed in a hospital gown and she explains about his degree from Caltech, check it out.

#123. Posted by: fresh03 at May 11, 2006 12:56 AM

Did anybody see the interactive commercial in tonight's episode? The ad was paid for by "Sprice" - it was at the bottom left of the screen, in the first few seconds of the spot.

#124. Posted by: Craig at May 11, 2006 1:10 AM

I played around with the sublymonal site last night too. Fresh03 mentioned "if you play around with it long enough." There are six symbols in a circle with the word Obey in the middle. I clicked first on the word Obey and the circles rotated. As I moved my mouse around, I noticed that the mouse pointer changed to a hand, meaning only one of the boxes was a link. I clicked it a few times and it made a noise, then the items shifted again and one box became highlighted and was placed at the bottom of the circle. The box to the immediate left of it is always the one to click. After a few moments, i caught on. You need to click the boxes based on the numbers. It takes a while to click them that many times, but once you are done, the password "Heir Apparent" does appear.

Craig -

The ad was actually paid for by Sprite, not Sprice.

Corporations aren't stupid - they know how many viewers Lost is getting and they're going to partner up with this as much as possible..

#127. Posted by: Adam at May 11, 2006 10:11 AM

#128. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 11, 2006 10:27 AM

I heard that in the the new Mission Impossible, the credits list a thank you to the Hanso Corporation.

I have yet to get into the site, but where people are typing a message and submitting, has anyone typed the numbers in to see if something happens.

Last night could have been my favorite episode to date. I knew Ecko and Locke together would be awesome.

#129. Posted by: tk at May 11, 2006 10:42 AM

Did anyone else notice that in the ElectoMagnetic picture (under active projects) the date of the picture is October 28th.. which is the same date under the alvar hanso picture in the Bios? ( different year) Just an observation :)

#130. Posted by: Heather at May 11, 2006 2:30 PM

About that word "Obey" that's popping up in the sublymonal site: Which soft drink's slogan was "Obey your thirst?"

#131. Posted by: Trinity at May 11, 2006 3:12 PM

It is/was Sprite who said "Obey Your Thirst."

#132. Posted by: Ted at May 11, 2006 4:13 PM

After fooling around with the Mittlewerk bio (Persephones message) his signature showed up. The crazy/messiness of it seems to match all of the other scratches and scribbles that show up as one goes through the site. Has anyone else noticed this?

#133. Posted by: Joss at May 11, 2006 4:23 PM

Anyone think that 'Persephone' might be Libby?

#134. Posted by: Joss at May 11, 2006 4:26 PM

opps...I take back the Libby as Persephone comment. Just heard P's voice, not even close.

#135. Posted by: Joss at May 11, 2006 4:32 PM

Jenny, I think you're right. The CalTech record changed between Tuesday and Wednesday, and now again today. It appears that it's zooming in closer. You can no longer see the the CalTech logo in the top left corner, or the blue box on the bottom. Also, it appears the silhouette is getting closer. Something to keep checking out I guess.

OKAY IVE GOT A GOOD POINT!!!!
so the dates under alvars pic and the electro pic are oct 28 2001 and oct 28 2003...EXACTLY two years a part....2 is important here because...i found a link on the hanso page and i went to like hanso.org or something like that and a picture of the orientation film guy kept flashing and it showed pictures of the letters where the foundation subverts authority at world speed records...but at the bottom ...there is the dharma logo and nder it a set of number !!! NOT 4 8 15 16 23 42...it was 2 10 13 18 21 44 .... and if u add or subtract 2 from all those u get the number!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WEIRD i cant freakin get enough

The login in space at the bottom right corner of the hanso foundation page--I'm still trying to figure out what to type in there to get it to do something. Just now, I put in a question mark and it deleted it, then I put it in again and it thought about it and said, sorry unknown user. But I just think it's interesting that the first time you put a ? in there, it just deletes it. Does it mean anything??

Haha! I found new on the oceanic air site, if anyone has found it before sorry i didn't read it... but for those who are new... there is a message saying that the cancelled all flight due to the plane crash and such... but when u slide the mouse in to the FLIGHT 815 there is a betweeb lines message "I survived a horrific plane crash and am stranded on an island somewhere Northeast of Australia and Southwest of Hawaii. In the event that I am never found, please forward word of my fate to my parents." and behind the very important thing there is another hidden message from someone named Sally "please get word I'm alive and stranded on an island somewhere in the South Pacific. Please send help soon. Things are bad. And they're getting worse...

The clock on the website and started blinking. It opened up this link.
http://www.sublymonal.com/. Click multiple times on each section and it says code: Heir Apparent. Also, view thehansofoundation website in full screen. There is a hidden login at the bottom which I can't seem to bypass (yet)

I don't think the Widmore Group website is real. If you go to "http://www.widmoregroup.com/privacy.htm", there is a disclaimer at the bottom that says the webiste is not affiliated with ABC/Disney/Touchstone. That might also explain Locke's father being on the corporate page. Someone is just fantasizing...

Hi- 2 things we have been thinking:
The WWPDP World Map phantom location looks like it is near the Bermuda Triangle-- the code numbers translate to "missing organs" (A=1, B=2, etc...)
weird??!!
Also-- the pdf memo found in the main page has hidden url at bottom-- this url goes to a single page called "Persephone.." and it is a string of numbers. We have been trying to figure out how to decode. Any cryptograpgers out there?

we were also wondering , it is a theory, but maybe there is some work being done on the island that they are stuck on by the E.R.I. (electromagnetic research initiative) because it seems as though lots of planes are being crashed there...

marls, you probably need to login through the newsletter sign up again first. I believe the OB:EY only flashes when the minute is either 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42.

On the homepage, bottom right, there is a new pdf of the "bad twin" ad that ran in newspapers recently. Discovered something new though. The address is http://thehansofoundation.org/press/extra/uploads/paris/newspaper.gif

Try removing the newspaper.gif and enter just htt... /press/extra/uploads/paris/

It takes you to a new letter from Hugh McIntyre to Hyperion books. There is also a htt.../press/extra/uploads/london/ folder, but nothing in it yet.

Went to see MI3 last night (not too shabby a movie, by the way). I know it's been posted several times that they acknowledge The Hanso Foundation in the credits, but I noticed something that hasn't been mentioned before (at least I don't think it has). Tom Cruise's character gets a phone call from a PO box type place with a secret message from one of his former students and the fake name the former student uses for him is Mr. Kelvin. As in, Kelvin, predecessor to Desmond. So what I'm saying is I think Tom Cruise is on the island!!!! OK, just kidding about him being on the island, but of all names for them to use, why Kelvin? Hmmmm....

#155. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 13, 2006 6:52 PM

I don't know if this has been mentioned in the past by someone, but I guess it may be worth a plug. (forgive me but I've just started watching Lost...and I even thought the Hanso Foundation commercial was for real and the show advertised for the foundation at the end of the Pearl Room orientation vid!)

1. Hanso I believe is a japanese sur-name.
2. In last Wednesday's episode (05.10.06) I think I heard a mention of eugenics research when Locke and Eko viewed the orientation film for the Pearl Room.
3. On the Hanso Foundation website there is/are mention/s of WWII studies or something like that.

I remember- from high school history classes, the History channel and all the WWII documentaries PBS tends to show often- is that Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany took a special interest in eugenics which essentially lead to WWII and the holocaust.

And I'm sure we all know that Germany allied itself with Japan [and Italy but I don't think that's too important for now] to create the strongest forces behind the Axis Powers.

Could there be a connection between Nazi eugenic studies and the recent eugenic studies of the Hanzo Foundation?

i don't know if anyone thought of this, but do you think persephone is danielle ruesseau's (sp?) daughter? biohazzard said persephone was taken from her mother by hades.

On the Hanso website it mentions two dates of Ocotber 28. One is of Alvar Hanso, and the other is of some trippy green light spreading over the earth. There in 2001, and 2003. Maye that's Hanso's Birthday. But another thing I dont get is on the blastdoor map, theres something that says 'final resting place of Magnus Hanso.' Who the hell is Magnus Hanso? Is it Al's dad,his brother, what? I guess only time will tell.

If you go to the oceanic website and get to the plane's seating chart, click on the row numbers one at a time using the NUMBERS 4,8,15,16,23,42. You get a trailer that was made for season 2.
It says that the people are not the survivors that they THOUGHT they were....pretty cool!

If you go to the oceanic air site and enter 'THE' for the From City and 'BOY' for the To City, a picture of a post card Michael sent to Walt will appear in the yellow box.

#162. Posted by: BongSoo at May 16, 2006 11:19 AM

On the Oceanic site, if you click on Kate's seat (27H), and then hover over the picture of the plane next to "Oceanic 777", it turns into what looks like either the Beechcraft or an older plane. Could this be a clue to the "time warp" theory?

#163. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 16, 2006 12:19 PM

I'm not finding anything when the seating chart comes up. How did you get that about Kate's seat??

#164. Posted by: Scott at May 16, 2006 1:10 PM

Scott, from the front web page (http://www.oceanic-air.com/home.htm), click on the green "Find" button. Once there, a seating chart loads (takes a while). After that, certain seats start to light up green and if you hover over them, the name and seat number comes up. For Kate's seat, I've sometimes gotten the changed picture of the little plane at the bottom and other times, I've gotten her mugshot flashed up on the screen with writing that I can't decipher because it flashes too quickly.

#165. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 16, 2006 1:38 PM

OK. Thanks I got that. What about the letters that can be moved around? It looks almost like a scrambled word game. Have you played with that?

#166. Posted by: Scott at May 16, 2006 1:44 PM

Scott, yes I have and I think it was posted previously above. In case it wsan't, the rearranged letters become "Other Man" and then you see a clip of Michael and then Walt getting taken way on the boat.

#167. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 16, 2006 2:16 PM

Soco, how long do you have to wait for Kate's seat to turn green to be able to click on it? I've stared at it for 10 minutes, and the only ones that have turned green are Ana Lucia's and Boone's.

#168. Posted by: Monique at May 16, 2006 5:10 PM

#169. Posted by: Bebel at May 16, 2006 5:23 PM

Monique, I don't know how long it will take for Kate's seat to light up. I've been on the site several times and the order of when the seats light up seems to be random. You might want to try going on again and be patient.

It seems thehansofoundation.org has gone through some changes. There is a "Log On" box at the lower right hand of the screen, and I believe the info about the "Vik" mental health institute is new - it also says "inquire here" but when I try to input info it says connection timed out.

Also, oceanicflight815.com was I believe a preview for Season 2.

oct 62, 9291 and then look at the pic. you will notics when you move the mouse around you get a x, and y point in the pic. now if you take it to x629, and y291 there is a noter page to goto, lots more to look at. its only one little spot you can click on but to save you time, its right in the middle of the digram they have drawn out, look hard. you have to solve a nother puzzle and then you get promt for are you one of the good ones y/n, type yes and you get more stuff to look at,

Hey I got onto the site and there is a link to the right of the compass, the screen then changes a little to show compass degrees and numbers, dont know the signifigance yet. A small box with the hanso corp comes up, gives IP adress in box of 64.207.133.244, in the screen with the compass numbers on the lower right there is a number letter code of DI 9FFTR751, dont know either. the new web site that comes up and i couldnt get on yet is www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr

#181. Posted by: NateV2000 at May 17, 2006 10:44 PM

I have gotten past the loading, but I haven't gotten very far. So there's a compass. And it seems that if you continuously click outside the compass on the southwest and northeast side, a map pops up. It has a bunch of numbers (they're the numbers if you take the tangent of the angles) and then there is a weird code on the southeast side of the compass. I think it says "DI9FFTR731". That's as far as I can get. Anyone get further?

Did you watch the Jeep's video in McIntyre's folder? At the end there's the Dharma logo with some kind of text. I tried to shift my brightness/contrast as much as i could, but still i can't read it. Any clue? It seems something like: DUNNO Me Jeep DUNNO.
The text below the logo is almost impossible to read, i didn't even tried.
Maybe it's useless, but you never know....

#186. Posted by: not_THAT_Alex at May 18, 2006 5:48 AM

If you go to http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/pthompso/mail/INBOX

The binary code translates to

The Mouth Piece

#187. Posted by: illusivemuse at May 18, 2006 6:54 AM

Besides the binary code, there's another location where they give you "The Mouth Piece" code.

At http://www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/ select Hugh McIntyre, then Mail, then the 13919199...image. It's an old Jeep ad. Enlarge the photo, and you'll see the phrase near the Around the World banner.

Also, if you view the source code at the Hanso foundation, you'll notice the djdan . am website mentioned.

garytroupbooks . com also seems to be an official abc/lost site.

#188. Posted by: kelly at May 18, 2006 7:34 AM

go here:

and enlarge the jeep photo.

Near the krishna-looking drawing is a type saying: The Mouth Piece.

weird eh???

#189. Posted by: miked at May 18, 2006 8:00 AM

The Jeep video is on youtube.com. If you poke around on that site, there are a ton of other videos. Look at the hyperlinks to the right of the Jeep video and you can click on Hanso, Valenzetti, Dharma, etc. Tons of stuff to see.

#190. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 18, 2006 9:22 AM

I don't want to post multiple urls, but here is an elfurl for the most interesting video I found:

http://elfurl.com/rsfl7

This video explains each of the stations and what projects are being worked on in each. Poke around, there are a lot more.

#191. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 18, 2006 9:37 AM

Where was that video found in relation to the game? Very interesting stuff in there, I noticed there was no mention of the Pearl.

#192. Posted by: Mary at May 18, 2006 10:34 AM

Can anyone tell who the woman is in the middle of the compass on the letyourcompass... website? Her picture is very faint and appears on the left side inside the compass. From the way the hair falls, it could be the woman who speaks the introduction on the Hanso website, but I can't tell for sure.

#193. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 18, 2006 10:34 AM

The lady in the compass is the same from the opening splash page from the Hanso site. They just love to reuse stock images.

#194. Posted by: Kevin at May 18, 2006 10:38 AM

Mary, here's how I got to the video: started at the compass website, clicked in the lower right corner to get the map/numbers up, then a black box pops up in the upper left corner. At the end of the script in the black box, type "Y". That brings you the "usr" part of the website. I clicked on the hmcintyr folder, then in there, clicked on mail, then the CJ7_Hatch link. That launches youtube.com. After I watched that video, I started clicking on some of the hyperlinks to the right of the Jeep video and found a buch of other videos.

#195. Posted by: socompletelylost at May 18, 2006 10:46 AM

Has anyone else watched the videos which bring into question for moral fiber of Thompson?

Some of the tid bits are pretty cool with this game, but is anyone else getting sick of this AD heavy scavenger hunt? Does anyone else suddenly feel like buying a Jeep?

#196. Posted by: KJC at May 18, 2006 10:46 AM

I even tried on different browsers. Do you need to capitalize or do the quotes have to be there?

#211. Posted by: Jim at May 19, 2006 4:35 PM

so today i was checking out the hanso website and decided to do the same little "click on the date-link under alvar hanso's picture" thing, but this time i did something different. when Persephone started talking and the words were coming up like "is he hiding?" i looked in the background and saw what seemed to be a green hologram of alvar hanso, just like i had before.

but then. OH THEN! i waited longer instead of clicking and taking me back to the hanso site. suddenly, the screen went black and a small green dot was flashing and beeping in what seemed to be MORSE CODE! i'm no morse code expert, so could somebody please translate it? thank you!

#212. Posted by: Skyz at May 19, 2006 7:35 PM

Jim,

Are you logging into at the newsletter sign-up first? Try doing that, then go to Exec Bios, Hugh, type "the mouth piece" and enter.

There's now an update to the Peter Thompson bio. You'll see letters flashing behind his photo. They read S U R V I V O R G U I L T. Just beneath his photo there is a hidden text box where you can enter the letters and hit enter. It opens up another screen with three different companies he's represented.

#213. Posted by: kelly at May 19, 2006 10:45 PM

Also, in regard to the new info and the 3 companies under Peter Thompson, after you've clicked on each of the 3 companies (as kelly described), there will be a word at the end of the writing that is underlined. Click on that word, and you'll get an eerie "video" with images flashing in the background. The some sort of image pops up, kinda Marvin-Candle-looking, and you can click on it to take you back.

Can anyone make sense out of the imagery?

#214. Posted by: Dan at May 20, 2006 3:09 PM

Also, on the eerie videos there are some words that flash very fast on the pictures. Can anyone find out what they are?

To: Skyz et all.

The Morse code that you get at the end of the Hanso clue is:

Its that darn SAFEG again. Does this mean that the answer to the question. "Where's Hanso?" Safeg?

What the heck is safeg?

#219. Posted by: Dak at May 23, 2006 3:01 PM

I know that people think that is the clue, but I can't find anything on that page that would indicate that its part of the game. It does sound like something that Hanso would be involved with - helping the human race and all..

if u go to thehansofoundation.org/#section=bios and put the passowrd "the mouth piece" in there it should work
i dont know why it wont work on the regular one because i think that address is different from the regular hanso site

Dak,
Another suggestion...make sure you have logged back into the newsletter sign-up first. You'll get the welcome back, no new messages text from persephone. Then go back to Executive Bios, select McIntyre, type "the mouth piece" and hit enter.

#222. Posted by: kelly at May 23, 2006 6:44 PM

Can anyone make out the letters behind Peter Thompsopn? I see an S, a , and an L for sure but it's so fast that I cna't make out the rest.

Also on the sublymonal site the LYMON is highlighted and some may recall that Sprite used to describe the flavor of its soda as "lymon" a combination of lemon and lime. Probably not significant to "the game", but another clever reference.

But I'm hoping for clues. Also since everyone had dead ended on q9als2002.gif look for a new URL during the Hanso commercial tonight.

#225. Posted by: Gregor at May 24, 2006 3:56 PM

Someone else might have already mentioned this, but going along with the subLYMONal "Sprite" theme, the word obey....

Could it mean...

OBEY YOUR THIRST?

Just wondering.

#226. Posted by: illusivemuse at May 24, 2006 7:51 PM

Freckles, it spells out "survivor guilt". If you click on Thompson's bio, there's a hidden text box just below his photo on the bottom left. Enter survivor guilt and hit return.

Also found something else new. At the very bottom of the site, there's a new "Careers" button. It takes you to hansocareers.com. Just stumbled on it and haven't had a chance to explore yet. Finale is in just 25 minutes.

#227. Posted by: kelly at May 24, 2006 8:35 PM

#228. Posted by: Jenny at May 25, 2006 12:00 AM

Adding to the hansocareers.com post, I did a job search and it always returns the same 5 jobs. Looking at each one, something kept catching my eye. I noticed a couple of letters on each job description were lighter than the rest of the text. I looked at the HTML source coding, and I'm not crazy. The letters were intentionally changed to the color Gray, so it's not a random fluke. In order from the first job to the last, these are the letters I found:

n s l u t m i e m a y a

Anyone make sense of this?

#229. Posted by: david at May 25, 2006 3:22 AM

So I just started reading this stuff and skipped through a bit to the latest Hanso Careers stuff. There's a link to send an email to apply for the job. Anyone tried it?

#230. Posted by: sup at May 25, 2006 5:29 AM

I tried the email, but haven't had any response yet.

In each job listing, there is a hidden link to http://www.thehansofoundation.org/index.html#section=bios

If you click the RSS button at the very bottom of the hanso site, it tells you that Jacob Vanderfield (one of the board of directors) has had his profile updated. There's also a reference to Liddy Wales ( Liddy Wales
-^).

I haven't been able to get anywhere with the nslutmIemAya letters either. I was thinking maybe namaste, which leaves you with luimy. Luimy is a name, so I was trying to enter the board of directors pages with login "luimy" and password "namaste", but no luck.

Board of Directors updated
~ Jacob Vanderfield
 Liddy Wales
 Dick Cheever
 Lawrence Peck
 Bill Flood
 Sam Hicks

http://www.thehansofoundation.org/#section=bios

Who the heck are Bill Flood and Sam Hicks?

#243. Posted by: Jill at May 25, 2006 1:58 PM

Thanks Rabbit--
I always do sign in, it's weird, like it's stuck... grrr!

Does anyone have any thoughts about Demond's love? I mean, her rich father (what was his name?) sending him on a "boat race" (quest to recover his honor?) and her name-- Penelope, so close to Persephone? And of course, she was alerted to the relase of the EMP-- why? Is she involved in Hanso's Electromagnetic research?
What about the colossal 4-toed statue foot?
Holy Smokes.

I LOVE a mystery but I wonder if there will be a apyoff or if I'm being teased into "experiencing" ads for Sprite, Jeep, Monster.com, etc, etc...

Don't think this has been posted here, but here goes:

The file name of the sepia-coloured Jeep ad (www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/hmcintyr/mail/139191991471518711419.jpg) is another potential clue:

13 9 19 19 9 14 7 15 18 7 1 14 19
= missing organs

#245. Posted by: ITB at May 25, 2006 7:25 PM

the jeep pic at www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/hmcintyr/mail/139191991471518711419.jpg also has printed 'The Mouth Piece' in very small print to the right of the religious statue.

#246. Posted by: LostNick at May 26, 2006 7:13 AM

Also in the pic at www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/hmcintyr/mail/139191991471518711419.jpg is a black dot on the globe to the left of the religious statue. It looks like this dot marks a place in Icelnad. Is this where our two EMI monitors are stationed or the costal city of Vik Iceland where a job has been posted in the career site? Also might be another globe marker in Africa but can't be sure.

Here is what you find on www.hansocareers.org.

You are approaching the ISland. THE Institute extends a weLcoming Embrace.
It all began with good intentions. That is what HE felt as he steered the launch, alone, to the ISland. As he emerged through the encircling shroud of fog he saw he saw the splendor unfold in front of him. A lush green unlike anything anywhere else on the planet. Green valleys crowned by equally lush mountains. And the beach shining breathlessly as the fog parted way. It was as if IT was a living breathing entity alive and growing since it emerged from a volcanic rupture a billion years ago. As he guided the launch to that beach his thoughts drifted back to the warning his thoughts drifted back to the warning and he knew this was not going to be a bikini watch. He had a mission and then had to get out. That was the deal, half deposited into the number coded Cayman Island bank account upon departure and half upon return. It would buy the revenge he had lusted after for as long has he could remember. The previous mission, well they never returned, except for the old man who ... (Then it ends. I'm not sure if this is part of the game, but it prety weird. And what is with the capital letters? If you pull them out you get "IS HE IS IT"

Hi all, new here and thought I'd share my little find on the Oceanic 815 seating chart. Today, at least for me, Shannon's seat (9F) is green. If you click on it twice, there's a flickering image behind the chart that seems to be Sayid's passport. You might have to fiddle with the contrast of your screen to see the stuff clearly. Click on it a few more times and the image comes up a LOT clearer. After that, her seat fades back to light blue.

#249. Posted by: LadyLost at May 26, 2006 1:01 PM

i also figured something out on oceanic airlines. if u click on the blue box above the numbers 4 8 15 16 23 42 then other of the lost characters boxes will show up in green and u can click on each one of them to see something. to see kate's, u have to click on edward mars first and hers will appear above his in red.

DJ Dan's new podcast is up, but it's not on his site - it's at sublymonal.com. The first password is "persephone," of course, and the second you can find on the plane's tail.

Hi...recently when I was on the start page of letyourcompassguideyou.com, and right before I clicked on the 108 degress link to get to the Hanso site, I noticed what looked like the following clue inside the original compass:

DI9FFTR

I have no idea what this means and tried to login with it every which way but loose on the Hanso page to no avail. You all seem very well versed in this game on this forum, more so than me on any day, so I thought I would let you know what I saw.

If this helps, great. Can you post what happens with this so the rest of us find out? Thanks!

ok, when u put in the pswrd "the mouth piece" and u watch the little vid and then all these papers, pills, and diamonds start fallin...what is on all of those papers?? they fell too quickly for me. Thanks!

#255. Posted by: ash at May 29, 2006 9:07 PM

OK....

so I have a whole new brand of clues for you guys....here goes:

As some of you know, St Sebastion Hospital is Jack's hopital(side note)

Go to : www.stsebastionhospital.org

It will say that the site is down...yada yada.

if you notice closely, after a while in the upper right hand corner the "e" in sebastion changes to various different letters. These letters conveniently spell asylum inmate. Also, occasionally the numbers 76534-25 flash on the screen. Remember this.

So if you type in

www.stsebastionhospital.org/asyluminmate

a new page appears with binary code, as well as letters that spell out: Hanso funded

highlighting the entire page reveals more binary code, which translates to the members of the flight, as well as the word candle. on the right, it says :

faith being tested, man of science, etc.

OK....that's the first part.

there's also a intranet with a shared file.

goto www.stsebastionhospital.org/inranet

it'll ask for a user name and password.

the user name turns out to be 76534-25
the password is candle

it will take you to marvin candles profile, where you can see several images, as well as hit the shared file, labeled under Uploaded files as

//wshared/

After getting into the shared file dir.,
click on any to recieve a message...

#256. Posted by: miked at May 30, 2006 6:04 AM

As noted earlier, the jeep photo can be found at www.letyourcompassguideyou.com/usr/hmcintyr/mail/139191991471518711419.jpg

On the St Sebastian site, if you hover over the white area in the St Sebastian logo on the top right of the screen in will say 139191991471518711419.jpg

This is the same file name. Any ideas about what this string of numbers means?

#257. Posted by: LostNick at May 30, 2006 7:50 AM

The entire RFP issued by Hanso for the Jeep fleet can be seen at

#258. Posted by: NickLost at May 30, 2006 8:06 AM

I found the answer to m question. FYI...

If you divide the numbers from the jeep ad (139191991471518711419) into representation for letters, you get:

13 9 19 19 9 14 7 15 18 7 1 14 19

missing organs

#259. Posted by: LostNick at May 30, 2006 8:12 AM

There is a new tool on thehansofoundation.org. Under active projects, the Mathmatical Forecasting Initiative has a new map available.

I don't want to ruin the exploration for everybody, but when you figure out what you need to do, I suggest you reference the CIA's World Factbook - http://elfurl.com/rwtiv. After you've solved it, you'll get an interesting letter from our good friend Peter Thompson.

There's also another part of the map, a hidden message, that I haven't figured out the significance to yet. Who is "she"? If anyone else has any ideas, let us all know!

#260. Posted by: Dan at May 30, 2006 3:10 PM

oops.

its

stsebastianhospital, not stsebastionhospital on all afformentioned stuff. sorry about the confusion.

#261. Posted by: miked at May 30, 2006 5:57 PM

ok, so I wrtote this stuff way early in the morning...forgot to give a password.

so, in candle's intranet account, look at uploaded photos. one of them will be the directory of the hospital, entitled ID242013_scan.jpg.

242013 turns out to be the user name and password for the shared directory named //wshared/. after typing those in, you can click on cshephard and see something interesting...

#262. Posted by: miked at May 30, 2006 6:12 PM

We have found a new site. Linked to the oceanic website. (not sure if this is here already)

Go to the seating plan (see above on how to get there) Once in the seating plan click on the 6 row numbers in thier correct order.
4 8 15 16 23 42

See the vid and go to the next oceanic site. Loads of downloadables :) - wall papers, screen savers etc etc etc
Enjoy

#263. Posted by: Matt C at May 31, 2006 9:40 AM

On the St. Sebastian's Hospital website, if you follow the link "Longevity Project," it tells you that the site is a "Parody Project project." So, I don't think it's really part of the game.

#264. Posted by: Jill at May 31, 2006 10:05 AM

Miked -

I've tried numerous times to enter 76534-25 and candle as the password. It keeps bringing me to a screen that says "Bad Login Credentials". Am I missing something? Is candle all lowercase? I've tried every way.

Thanks!

#265. Posted by: mopotts at May 31, 2006 11:07 AM

Hey Dan,

can you elaborate a little on the map found in mathmatical forecasting initiative. I've clicked all the $, etc. but have no idea what to do next!

www.djdan.com has another podcast. Click on the date 6/1. It will take you to the compass website. Turn the compass like before. This time persephone asks you if you believe, say yes. Then it takes you to the file listing. I think its under "wells" or something like that. It is a tel_soul.mov file just like the Jeep CJ7 mov from before. It takes you to you tube. Watch the show!

A new Hanso Foundation commercial ran during 'Boston Legal' this evening.

http://www.retrieversoftruth.com

Does this mean that Vincent will be back next season with a bigger role?

#274. Posted by: MasterWill at June 6, 2006 10:33 PM

on this site you need to sign up for the email, which you will be immediately sent. 'waking dream' is the word that is given it needs to be re-arranged though

#275. Posted by: The Port at June 7, 2006 1:07 PM

New spot to enter password found today - need a little help. Go to the active projects, WWPDP project. Click on the press release, second paragraph go to the word "miracle". If you click on the word it will ask for a password (waking dream is not it)

#276. Posted by: Pooch at June 7, 2006 2:13 PM

Pooch - try "heavy water".

Regarding the retrievers of truth...

The Institute for Genomic Advancement page on thehansofoundation.org was updated. If you highlight the 2 red cells in the left picture, and the 1 black cell in the right picture at the top right of the page, it will reveal the words "retrievers of truth" in the x-ray image at the bottom.

There is also a hidden password area now at the bottom of the page, following all the text. I tried "waking dream", "you", and also on a hunch "missing organs", and nothing seemed to work. And you have to reload the page between entering passwords.

Any ideas?

#277. Posted by: Dan at June 7, 2006 3:03 PM

Thanks Dan, looks like I missed where the clue "heavy water" came from in the past.

#278. Posted by: Pooch at June 7, 2006 3:15 PM

Is anyone else f--ing SICK of the Hanso website music!!!

#279. Posted by: Phil at June 7, 2006 11:11 PM

On the article posted on the WWWP link, following the Heavy Water password, there is a reference to a Dr. Amy Honale - Anagrams to 'A Holy Name' or 'Anal Homey'. Probably not the latter. :D

#280. Posted by: Mike at June 8, 2006 12:13 PM

YES, I am sick of the music, in fact sick of all this. Nothing is actually going to be figured out - this is just to keep people's interest through the summer. They are NOT going to release any info. that regular watchers won't experience. Basically, this is a huge waste of time for everyone. What would be the point in giving away any info. that regular watches couldn’t follow or understand – than they would lose ratings due to backlash. Besides this has already gotten to the point of ridiculousness – it’s a great concept but this will wear off quickly and it will be back to just watching the ‘regular’ show (nothing wrong with that). Too much of a good thing…

#281. Posted by: THE PORT at June 8, 2006 1:20 PM

Update on the Institute for Genomic Advancement password:

From the Retrievers of Truth newsletter, it describes parthenogenesis as a study linked to genetic research. Incidentally, "parthenogenesis" is the password that goes into the hidden spot at the end of the text on the page.

The result...well, see for yourselves. I have no idea what it meant. But we do get to see our old buddy the Dharma-Shark.

And Mike, thanks for laugh :-)

Some of you may have noticed, but thehansofoundation.org is down. Apparently they didn't much care for Persephone's hacking.

However, if you look at the source code for the page, it mentions http://www.rachelblake.com

Seems innocent enough. All except the Copenhagen locale and the reference to an evil corporation.

I won't go into the details, but people smarter than me figured out that if you enter "evident agenda" into the extra info area, it takes you to Rachel's real blog. Enjoy.

>Dan Wrote: However, if you look at the source code for the page, it mentions http://www.rachelblake.com

The Compass site is still operative. If you go there and sort through the rigamarole to get to the "Directory", there is a new document in the "Trash" directory "OpenersHep.log" which is a log of series of communications attempts between an unknown outside user who identifies herself as RACHEL B.

She is trying to convince an employee of the corporation that his vehicles are being used for newfarious TRANSPORT (her caps) in Africa by the Hanso Foundation.

She sends him a file named "missing_organs.zip", and, after looking it over for a couple of days he asks her to tell him more. That's where the log ends.

The dates are Mon Mar 1 21:34:42 2006 through Sun Mar 05 09:23:14 2006, if that correlqates to anythiong on the website.

#289. Posted by: Cecil at June 23, 2006 6:15 PM

I went to hansocareers dot *org* when the original Hanso commercial for hansocareers dot *com* ran looking for clues. It wasn't "official" but was but was a lot of fun. So I've been following their development. They now point to a new "official" forum for their site at www.lostexposed.com, which also is a general Lost forum.

#290. Posted by: BillyD at June 29, 2006 11:23 PM

---Secondly; it is also interesting that there is a Mental Health section of the website. Leads me to believe that Hanso runs or operates mental health centers or hospitals...

Things that make you go hhhmmm.---

I'm kind of new on all these Lost-sites and stuff, (Lost isn't so long in my country actually). When I read this (I haven't read the rest, I'm defenitly gonna do!) I immediatly thought:

If Hanso really runs or operates mental health centers or hospitals, that would be an explanation for the Missing Organs thing, and also for the hospital room Claire, Ruisseau (which means stream in France) and Kate found in a hatch!

I'm so freaked out by all of this!! I just get to know all this and the program itself seems to become more exiting than ever...It's freaky but exciting and new, and I want to know everyting about it! =) I love all your help, thanks!

#291. Posted by: Danique at June 30, 2006 5:02 PM

---OK, this is a weird one...go to amazon.com and do a book search for "The Bad Twin"...remember, that's the manuscript Sawyer was reading that Jack threw in the fire.

I kinda want to buy the book but don't want to be suckered in here.---

Very weird... It looks like everyone is involved in some way or so...Or everything is real... I don't know how this is possible! It's frustrating but the more I find out, the more I freak out!

#292. Posted by: Danique at June 30, 2006 5:32 PM

---Nice catch socompletelylost. Those dates are definately out of whack. Also, when you keep watching after all of the dates...the morse code message definately says s-a-f-e-g....not s-a-f-e-r. Any idea what safeg is? Does it mean anything in dutch? ---
Doesn't mean anything in Dutch (I'm Dutch, so I know ;)). I have typed it in on a searchingmachine and I got the English word "Safeguard"...That would be logical because it's a...word! But where do we have to get those last letters from? No idea...

#293. Posted by: Danique at July 1, 2006 4:13 PM

Bad Twin is a great summer read according to a good review at www.michellesbookreviews.com Go ahead and get sucked in. Btw, it was so popular they may come out with a sequel.

#294. Posted by: BillyD at July 4, 2006 2:16 AM

The Hansocareers.org site has changed and is doing an Island Encounter them. Not same as Hansocareers.com. Both are fun but confusing

#295. Posted by: StillLost at July 6, 2006 3:06 PM

This is something that I haven't seen at any website. Here's my theory on the meaning of the number 108:

In geometry, the number of degrees in a polygon is determined by 180(n-2), where n is the number of sides in the polygon. Therefore, there are 180 degrees in a triangle, 360 in a square, 540 in a pentagon, etc. In a regular polygon, each angle is determined by (total degrees)/n, which simplifies to 180-(360/n), where n is the number of sides. Set this equation equal to 108 and solve for n, and you get n=5. Every angle in a right pentagon is 108 degrees.

Does this mean that the Hanso Foundation is linked to the Pentagon? Maybe, maybe not. But 108 is an awfully random number to focus on otherwise, and it would be quite the coincidence if the two were not really related.

#296. Posted by: TheKid at July 7, 2006 12:33 PM

108 is the sum of the numbers !!!! so, not really that random....

jeez.!

#297. Posted by: Mortimer at July 29, 2006 10:58 AM

Obviously, 108 is the sum of the numbers. It is also the amount of time on the countdown timer. Any idiot can gather that much by watching the show or reading previous posts. The question is WHY focus on 108? Why not 103 or 142? In that regard, 108 is as random a number as any other. That's all I was trying to figure out.

#298. Posted by: TheKid at August 13, 2006 11:09 PM

Okay, I just moved to Nicaragua this week from Costa Rica, so, to say the least we are a little behind. For example, we just had the Season 2 finale tonight (21/8/06). SO, I have no idea what hasbo.com is, as we don't get those commercials down here. Has anyone thought that WE are the experiment... the "RAts in the maze" so to speak. We watch the show (Ala pushing buttons every 108 minutes). Yes 7*24=168, but there's a connection there. Maybe we are the ones who are lost (i.e. ficticous web sites, puzzles, games et al.) and this is all just a joke/experiment to see what the "Great unwashed" will do if a particularly interestin carrot is dangles in front of us. ??????

#299. Posted by: D. Romer at August 21, 2006 10:06 PM
