Mac shares a few "Lost" thoughts with Mother Jones

I had a great time chatting with the crew over at Mother Jones about last night's episode, "Sundown." You can see the results of our rapid-fire, stream-of-consciousness conversation here.

The conversation was chock full of insights (and snark -- oh how I do love snark!), but there were two points that really struck me:

1. Ben and Widmore (should he return, which I think he will) could play "seconds" for Jacob and Flocke. And extending this out a bit -- any character could be a stand-in for Jacob or MIB for that matter. It's an interesting idea to play with.

2. There's also the possibility that Widmore and Ben could become unlikely allies in a fight against Flocke. If both love the island dearly, and both perceive Flock to be a threat to its existence, perhaps it's time to put petty differences aside and cowboy up. Or something like that.

Anyway, lots more over at Mother Jones.

Nice read Mister Slocum. (Cat-herder) Thanks for the link. It's good to see your thoughts after you have written the weekly column, and you've had a bit more time to digest it.

Well done, Mac. More food for thought. Whoever said "less is more" must have never been a Lost fan! We're all about the "More is more" concept!

I've been feeling kind of cheated that Widmore is nowhere to be found this season. He almost seems like an extra.

@3/Norm - "Widmore is nowhere to be found"

Your wish has been granted .... hey, that's sounding mighty djinnish! ;)

Seriously though, cool to see him back!

Still wondering if the one last, possibly not crossed-off name (@360 deg) from the lighthouse could be his ... fits with him coming to the island now, doesn't it?

Alaïs_Longthought pointed out another thing that might come to bear ... she mentioned that Ilana told Bram that Frank was a candidate. I had totally forgotten that, but it is true ... so what does that mean?

If we (AL & I) are right about the "missing" name at 360 deg on the lighthouse wheel being 6-8 chars, "Lapidus" fits the bill!

Could good ol' 360-degree Frank be "the one?" ...

This evening we heard Ilana say there were six left ... she knows about Frank, and she knows about the "Kwon" quandary (oh such a tremendous pun!).

So, who are the six? Frank, Hurley, Sawyer, Jack, Kate, Kwon (Jin and/or Sun) ...
