I'm still upset that "Beauty and the Beast" didn't win in the year it was nominated for Best Picture.

I doubt any animated film would ever win "Best Picture." I'm surprised it was even nominated -- not that it's a bad movie, it's just that the Academy is so traditional I doubt most members could consider anything other than what they've seen for decades.

I know, TRUST. Too bad they can't think beyond the obvious. At least it got nominated. As for this year's nominees I haven't much to offer by way of comment since I haven't seen any of them.

best picture: traffic

best director: ang lee

best actor...haven't seen before night falls, quills, or pollock, so i can't say. tom hanks and russell crowe...nah.

best actress: ellen burstyn, hands down

best screenplay: haven't seen half of those movies.

best screenplay (adapted): wonder boys!

best supporting actor: argh, i'm partial to both willem dafoe (he's not ugly moz), and benecio...willem should win

i was suprised that russel won, but i can't complain cause he is pretty to look at

i didn't see trafic, but i'm glad that benicio won, i have an odd effection for him.

i also thought that steve martin did a good job, i adore him, and i was glad to see him.
