It's been hard fought for, well deserved, much anticipated, or, in some cases, apprehensively awaited. With the premiere of the fifth season of La Femme Nikita come and gone, there is much to discuss, analyze, and question. Let it all out right here.[This message has been edited by jozeefine (edited 01-07-2001).] IP: Logged |

Well, I for one have to think about it a little more. It definitely felt odd, being in Section without Michael, Maddie, or Birkoff/Jason. So far, I can't say I'm a great fan of O'Brien's. Replacing Michael - oh please! I mean, can one look more unstylish and clumsy in mission gear??? And he's way too slick and smarmy. In general, it's just not the LFN I've come to love. But, there were also a lot of things I liked about it. The way Nikita has changed and become so independent and self-assured. Michael certainly taught her well - she seems to handle missions with the same grace and inventiveness that was so characteristic for him. Also liked her sense of humor about it. Soooo, all in all, I'm in a wait-and-see position. It ain't what it used to be, but it could turn out to be quite interesting in its own right. Let's see what next week's ep brings. j. IP: Logged |

Hi EVERYONE. Well, I for one was disappointed. But, I agree with Jozeefine. Let's wait to see what next week brings. I am willing to reserve further judgement until then. After all,the last episode of season 4 was supposed to be the final show of the series; and it would be hard to follow that particular episode up in any event. Even if there had never been talk of terminating the series, #1 of season 5 would have been a transitional episode in any event. I also didn't like the way the show opened(having Quinn in the credits but no mention of Birky, Michael, ect. anywhere). I felt like not as much thought was put into the show as usual. AS I said earlier, let's just wait and see. Alana....... IP: Logged |

LFN is a rare example of a show that isnt clearly written, yet extremely enjoyable. For example, the actions of Madeline & Operations have been inexcusably evil of late-I wanted Nikita to kill them both- and yet I would miss them if she did Great acting on the parts of Glaser & Watson. And what was the purpose of "killing" Birkoff-only to reincarnate him in the form of his twin (oh THAT'S original)but then writing him out too? Perhaps the worst part is that the one thing Nikita had- her soul- her humanity- has finally been crushed, as she now willingly works for Section (ostensibly to improve it). Let's take a look at the whole concept: this organization exists as in the context of "it takes a thief to catch a thief". Its members are there because they are criminals themselves- criminals who are thought to already be dead, or may as well be. These outcasts are resurrected and revamped for the sole purpose of being Section's slaves-whether they function as assassins, whores or moles. They either comply with these roles, or they die. And here's the real reason why this show, as it is, cannot go on: Section offers absolutely no reason to cooperate with it. Threats of cancellation can only go so far: after you realize youre trapped in an organization which knows your past, present,& dictates your future; which watches every move you make, that orchestrates every interaction you have from the day you meet them to the day you die, you will accept the fact that they have you & youre never going back to your former life. Knowing that, you have no incentive to cooperate with these people, & will either commit suicide or sabotage some mission that will not only get yourself killed but take down as much of Section as you can with you. There would have to be some kind of incentive, other than threats of death, to keep Section going. I laughed when Operations berated Nikita for spying on Section for Oversight- as if Section's ever done anything to deserve loyalty from anyone! Why would anyone feel loyalty to the group?? The same organization that owns you like a slave? Get real. IP: Logged |

I hate the whole S5 season, it sucks...The series is no goood, without Michael, Peta Wilson is not that good, the cast made her look good, especially Roy Dupuis...he is hot and a good actor, I think USA and Warners, thouth PW was the star, they were wrong.. I cannot believe that Nikita will be the BIG GUN and Michael, the man...in an apron. The networks and the writers must be such poor losers, wonder if they can get a woman...I doubt it, but they have lost thousands of fans, and I did think that was what they put shows, series, and movies on for, boy was I wrong, their entertaining themselves!!!BIG TIME LOSERS, kiss off USA and Warners, wont't be watching them again...have a good one.....marilee------------------ marilee IP: Logged |

I wish we could all live in peace...but it seems there is no such thing. Marileemullins, I understand you do not like the last episodes, but why slam it like that? You were that tore up with emotion when you wrote your reply? That is the sign of the very thing you seem to be attacking. Good acting. As to man in an apron...wake up girlfriend, he's a father, he WANTS to be a free father. I just wish he could get both, his son and Nikita. I enjoy the show, wish there were more episodes to come, and regret there will not be. But...still hoping. Still hoping. God bless. All are welcome to opinions. That's all we have.
